VIP NASCAR Tour Offered

Ladies and Gentlemen, start your engines and head to Charlotte NC, the home of NASCAR.  The latest NCM Museum in Motion Tour is a two day pilgrimage to some of the most interesting and significant locations in the NASCAR world August 17-18, 2011.

Kicking off the 2 day event is a day at Hendrick Motorsports featuring visits to their garages, pit stop demo, tour of their private collection, lunch and a visit from one of the crew chiefs.  Closing out the day will be dinner at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in the Speedway Club.

The next day starts with a return to the Speedway for a tour of the facilities, rides on the track in their Pace Cars, a photo op of all the participant cars on the Speedway itself and lunch.  Afterwards the participants will caravan to the garages of Dale Earnhardt Jr’s Nationwide Team for a private tour (generally not open to the public).

This very special event is limited to 75 cars and costs $800pp for Museum members and $840pp for non-members but includes a one year membership.  Hotel and additional meals are not included but we have arranged for a special block of rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn, Concord NC in the NCM name.   Registration opens Tuesday, April 5 and closes on Monday, July 18th, 2011, or after selling out. Check out the event online here.
Three Corvette Colors No Longer Available for MY2011

Fans of Cyber Gray, Crystal Red and Jetstream Blue will be disappointed to learn that those colors are no longer available for the remaining 2011 Corvette production. The damage from the earthquake and resulting tsunami in Japan is now starting to hit home... according to a recent article in the Wall Street Journal a type of shiny pigment used in these Corvette paint colors is only produced at a single plant in Japan.

GM is not the only automaker to be affected, Ford Chrysler, Volkswagen, BMW and Toyota also use the pigment known as Xirallic to give their vehicles a special sheen.

With the elimination of these three colors from the Corvette choices, a total of seven colors remain.

Connect Your Club with NCM

Do you love to know the inside scoop from the Museum, and even enjoy sharing news with other Corvette fans? If you are a member of a Corvette Club and don't currently have an "Ambassador" why not see about becoming one?

The Ambassador Program provides a two way communication link between the NCM and Corvette clubs / organizations. The program provides several opportunities to offer support through participation and involvement in the functions of the museum.

Each club can nominate or select an "Ambassador" to act as the liaison of that club to the Museum. Ambassadors must be a member of the Museum, however a club does not have to be a business member of the Museum to have an Ambassador.

Learn more about this worthwhile program online here, and contact Stephanie to sign up!
