Corvette Racing Rockets to 1-2 Finish in Houston

Under a full moon and under the lights on a balmy Friday night at Houston's Reliant Park on May 12, Corvette Racing posted a 1-2 finish in the GT1 class in the inaugural ALMS Lone Star Grand Prix.

Both Corvettes had flawless runs in the two-hour, 45-minute contest, finishing one lap ahead of their Aston Martin Racing rivals. The victory was Corvette Racing's 11th straight win in ALMS competition and the team's 32nd 1-2 finish since 2001. "As I said when we arrived here, I think Corvette Racing is the best prepared team in the series," said program manager Doug Fehan. "Tonight's result showed that all of our hard work, preparation and pre-race analysis produced a setup that could get the job done - and the drivers didn't put a wheel wrong all race." For the complete release click here: http://www.corvetteracing.com/

Corvette Racing's next event is the American Le Mans at Mid-Ohio this Sunday, May 21. The third round of the 10-race ALMS will be televised on CBS starting at 1 p.m. EDT.

Corvette Z06 – Writers Choice

The Corvette Z06 won the Writers Choice Award at the Texas Challenge, a spring automotive comparison event sponsored by the Texas Auto Writers Association.

The Z06 beat out last year’s winner, the Ford GT, as well as 53 other car entries. Some 50 auto journalists and 12 auto manufacturers participated in the event held at The Oasis in Austin, Texas. This was the fourth year of The Texas Challenge, the third year for the Writers Choice Award and the second year for a GM win. The Cadillac CTS-V won the first Writers Choice Award in 2004.
