Gathering Event Underway!

The second event of the season is underway and all Corvette enthusiasts are welcome to sign up for the ZR1/C4 Gathering on arrival if interested in participating in three days of fun that include drag racing, scenic road tours, seminars, auctions and more!

Special displays throughout the weekend include the new ZR1 and 20th Anniversary Corvette Challenge series cars. Participants can see these historic cars and enjoy racing footage and roundtable discussions pertaining to their significant marks in Corvette history.

A public art project called �Vettetastic� is colorfully decorating various businesses/attractions in Bowling Green and the NCM is home to one of the 12 Corvettes displayed across the city. These 1957 fiberglass Corvettes are approximately 1:2.8 scale and are sponsored by local businesses to support the American Red Cross.

The beautifully decorated Vettetastic car on permanent display at the entrance of the NCM, is sponsored by the Bowling Green/Warren County Convention and Visitors Bureau and showcases a military tribute theme � �United We Stand�. �This particular display is very special to me as a Vietnam Vet,� NCM Executive Director Wendell Strode shared with ceremony guests in attendance at a special ribbon cutting last week. �People paid a price for the freedoms we enjoy and this display honors that in a very meaningful way.� For more information on this special display program visit: www.vettetastic.org

A new driving event called PrimeDrive has been designed to provide enthusiasts a sample of what our more comprehensive multi-day driving event programs offer. This new program is being introduced at our High Performance Driving Event at Virginia International Raceway on June 30, 2008. 

Open to just 25 registrants at a cost of $75, students will receive classroom instruction, a lap session on the track with an instructor and a ride-along during an instructor run session.  This mini-school will allow participants to sample a driving program with minimal commitment to help them evaluate the opportunity in participating in a full scale driving school. Students interested must be driving a Corvette Coupe, Z06 or FRC and meet the event tech standards � helmets are required. *May 16-17 - NCM Executive Director, Wendell Strode will be attending the Panama City Beach Cruise in Dothan, AL.
*May 16-17 - Stephanie Morrill and Aimee Miller will be at the Lone Star Classic in Fort Worth, TX.
*May 16-17 - Denzel and Faye Williams will be in Madison, WI attending the Ballweg Corvette Show.
*May 24-25 - Bob and Lavonne Hellmann will be attending the Vettes in the Valley Show in Maggie Valley, NC.
*May 31 - NCM Board Member Ivan Schrodt will be in Hutchison, MA at the Crow River Corvette Show.
