Blue Ridge Friends of the NCM Join One Acre Club

Robert Anderson and Kent Cartner proved that even when their clubs couldn't commit to an acre - that they could still pull it off. "We have several motorsports enthusiasts in both of our clubs who wanted to move forward with donations... and decided to make a pledge under a new group name - Blue Ridge Friends of the NCM," Kent said.

"Having just come from the NCM HPDE event, we are both excited about the pledge and the Motorsports Park. We know it is a big commitment but we feel strongly about the project and want to contribute an acre," Kent added.

Several representatives of the informal group visited the Museum last week, attending the Vets 'n Vettes event where they presented $14,700 worth of checks. Learn more about the MSP project and how you can get involved at motorsportspark.org.

Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals Next Weekend

The NCM Insurance Agency has one more off-site show this year, and it is in one of our favorite cities. We will be setting up at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals just outside of Chicago, IL. The event is November 19th and 20th located at the Donald E Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL.

MCACN is the largest indoor car show around and attracts many very unique show cars or rare cars and this year brings the Class of 1971 40th display and a 1971 LS6 Corvette display.

"Build Your Own" ZR1 Raffle Winner Drawn

Congratulations to E. Pierce Marshall of Dallas, TX! He held winning ticket #181 in today's drawing for a "Build Your Own" ZR1! 2nd prize of $1,000 went to Michael Cooper of San Diego, CA with ticket #235 and 3rd prize of $500 went to David Alexander of Minden, NV with ticket #037. We sold 332 of the 500 tickets.

Next week, Thursday, November 17, we draw a winner for our "Build Your Own" 2012 Grand Sport Raffle. The raffle also has a $50k cash option, or the winner can choose to build their dream Corvette! Tickets are $100 each, and the raffle is limited to 1,994 tickets.

As of today (Thursday) we've only sold 190 tickets!

Gift Idea: Build Sheets and Window Stickers

Need another idea for that Corvette nut on your holiday shopping list? How about a build sheet and window sticker for their Corvette?

The National Corvette Museum Library and Archives offers these documents on Corvettes produced in Bowling Green from 1981 to the present. All you need is the year and VIN number of the Corvette!

Order online by December 15 to guarantee delivery by Christmas! Deadline for our wood etched and metal cast products is 11/25. Can't make those deadlines? No worries! We can do gift certificates or a letter to the recipient in time for Christmas if requested by 12/15.

Clubs Give Back: A Spotlight

Several club ambassadors submitted ways they support our military... this month we will share some of those ways!

Last year, the Linn Creek Corvette Association chose the �Christmas Stockings for Soldiers� to support with proceeds from our annual Corvette Meet and Greet. We sent Christmas stockings to 450 of our service men and women serving in Afghanistan (101st Airborne Spartans!); they arrived on Christmas Eve 2010. For many of these fine brave soldiers, that was the only Christmas item they received.

We were invited to the Change of Command for LTC James Sisemore at Ft. Campbell, KY this past June 2011. He and his troopers had returned to Ft. Campbell from Afghanistan in late April � early May, and he was going on to War College at Ft. Leavenworth, KS.

Our 4th Annual Corvette Meet and Greet was held 9/24/2011, and the commanding Officer of these brave soldiers, LTC James Sisemore and his family attended our event, and gave a rousing speech and �thank you� to our over 100 cars in attendance. Needless to say, we will be supporting this again at Christmas time�
