NCM Members Donate $1.3 Million
NCM Ambassadors and members, Ivan and Mary Schrodt have made a $1.3 million deferred gift arrangement to the Museum consisting of a family trust, a life insurance policy and six Corvettes – one of which they took delivery of on Saturday, November 11.
“The Museum is so important to us and we truly felt that it was the right place to make the financial commitment,” Ivan and Mary shared with us as part of a special reception at the Museum in honor of their generosity. “The relationship we have with the Museum has enabled us to do and enjoy so much, and I would encourage anyone with a passion for Corvettes to consider the Museum if they are planning a charitable gift.” “ America’s Sportscar Magazine” will feature the full story and more in the Jan/Feb issue – so stay tuned. Corvette Racing's Small-Block V-8 Wins Global Race Engine of the Year Award
GM's small-block V-8 added another accolade to a long list of honors when Corvette Racing's LS7.R was named the Global Motorsport Engine of the Year at the inaugural Professional Motorsport World Expo in Cologne, Germany, on November 9.
“Winning this award is another milestone in the history of the legendary GM small-block V-8," said GM Racing director Mark Kent. "The championship-winning LS7.R has evolved to a very high level of development, yet it retains the longstanding virtues of compact size, simplicity, reliability and high specific output that have made the GM small-block V-8 the world's most successful production-based racing engine." We Are Over Halfway There On the GM Sales Initiative
We are over halfway there on the GM Sales Initiative Challenge that could mean a $25,000 donation to the building campaign if 100 people who currently own a non-GM vehicle, purchase any new GM vehicle before December 31.
The challenge was made by an NCM member who retired from GM who will anonymously make the donation if we reach our goal. Help us spread the word to your club members and friends who are considering purchasing a new vehicle before the end of the year. Find out more about the GM Sales Initiative challenge by visiting our website at: http://www.corvettemuseum.com/donations/sales.shtml or by contacting Connie Russell at: connie@corvettemuseum.com
