NCM Board of Directors Changes

NCM Lifetime Members Tom Ferrara of Greenwich, CT and Bill Weir of Floydada, TX have been elected to serve a one-year term on the NCM’s Board of Directors.

Tom has been a member and supporter since 1991, participating in various Museum events including the 2002 Historic Motorama. Bill has been an active volunteer and member since 2001 and was the coordinator of this year’s Heartbeat in the Heartland Tour. Both will officially take their seats on the board on January 1, 2006. “Having the participation of board members that truly love the Museum and what it stands for is an important element as we move the Museum forward”, states NCM Executive Director, Wendell Strode. “Both of these gentlemen will represent the Museum well and we appreciate them stepping up to the plate.”

Modified Corvette Exhibit

The kick off of the NCM’s 2006 display season will feature a special "modified Corvette" theme, recognizing Corvettes that have been externally modified.

IMSA Presentation to the NCM

Larry Hayes, IMSA (International Motor Sports Association) Director of Events, presented NCM Executive Director, Wendell Strode with a replica of the 2005 American LeMans Series Championship trophy in appreciation for the Museum’s strong support of this year's Chevy Presents Corvette Corral program at the ALMS.

The Museum was a co-host at each of this year’s Corvette Corrals hosted as part of the Corvette race season festivities. The trophies were designed and manufactured by Élan Motorsports Technologies, Braselton, Georgia. The 2005 ALMS Championship trophies are hand crafted from 200g 2X2 Carbon Fiber (outer skins) and 6061 Aluminum (inner core) on an Italian marble base.
