The evening’s affair will focus on the 10th Anniversary of the C5/C6 Registry. A Percentage of Your On-line Shopping Can Benefit the NCM

What if you could do your regular on-line shopping and have each store donate a percentage of your purchases to the NCM - wouldn't that be great? Well, now you can! When you visit the NCM's online shopping mall at http://www.shopforcharityday.com/1483 you can link to approximately 1000 different stores and shop 24/7.

Stores such as Land's End, Kohl's, Sears, Target and Home Depot will donate a stated percentage to the NCM. The NCM shopping mall will state the exact percentage that each store gives to the Museum. Avoid busy parking lots, long check-out lines and shop at your convenience. It's easy - all you do is select a store and click through from the NCM mall. This will take you to the store's regular website, but will track the purchase amount for the NCM. Shop today and everyday at: http://www.shopforcharityday.com/1483

AutoWeek Readers Choice Awards

When you ask the ultimate hard-core car enthusiasts to share what they think qualifies as the top vehicle in various segments, you get something special: the AutoWeek Readers’ Choice Award winners.

For six weeks, readers have been voting and those who visited the autoweek.com website told which of all the cars, trucks and sport/utility vehicles sold in the United States are worthy to be called tops in their class. There were nine identified categories—from Best Exotic Car to Best First New Car—with a total of 273 nameplates represented. Corvette wins “ Best Sports Car” with the following comments: There is nothing more evocative of enthusiast lust than a sports car. It is central to our existence. Without it, there is no mantra, no focus. A sports car represents liberation but also membership in a fraternity of passion. A sports car is life, and for the majority of us, life begins with the Chevrolet Corvette. “The Lost Highway” Exhibit On Display

A little piece of the past represented in miniature Americana relics is on display through March 2007.

“The Lost Highway” exhibit pieces created by world-renown artist David Rose, features quality scale models of abandoned commercial properties from across America. Displayed as part of the Museum’s Route 66 exhibit, the series features miniature environments that offer the opportunity to revisit parts of the past covered by modern day architectural designs. Rose’s exhibit pieces include creative and intricate replicas of abandoned filling stations, motels, cafes and other samples of largely forgotten roadside entrepreneurs that were once busy serving customers and housing guests. The creations have received national recognition, showing at the American Institute of Architects, the National Building Museum, New York Museums and other arenas and galleries.

A Day Just for NCM Volunteers

Saturday, November 4 was a special day at the NCM dedicated to our NCM Volunteers. Over 100 volunteers from as far as Texas were in attendance for the special day set aside to honor them for their hard work and dedication throughout the year.

Volunteers are very important to the Museum and
they support the Museum in many ways including, representing us at off-site shows, volunteering at our events, taking on special renovation and clean-up projects at the Museum with their club and many other ways. Our volunteers received specially priced merchandise and discounts in the Corvette Store, tours of the NCM, and a scenic road tour and lunch. Thank you again to everyone who diligently participates as an NCM Volunteer – we couldn’t do it without you.
