American Le Mans Series 2007 Schedule Features New Markets- Reconfigured 12 Race Slate

Boasting three noteworthy new venues and major media markets, the American Le Mans Series has unveiled an ambitious 2007 schedule – the most comprehensive in the eight-year history of the Series.

The 12-event schedule, featuring new races in St. Petersburg, FL; Long Beach, CA and Detroit, MI impacts seven of the top 10 and 12 of the top 20 U.S. media markets as the series increases its ever-growing reach. The American Le Mans Series will share co-feature billing at certain weekends with both the Indy Racing League and Champ Car as the demand for top-level professional sports car racing in key markets continues to rise. "We are truly excited about not only our new venues and expanded lineup, but also the balance and logistical flow of our 2007 schedule," said Tim Mayer, COO of the American Le Mans Series and IMSA. "Each year it is gratifying to see new venues and promoters reach out to us because they understand the value that the American Le Mans Series brings to their market and fans. This was evidenced last year at Houston and Salt Lake City. It is a great growth opportunity for our Series to not only race at the historic and traditional courses of Sebring, Road America, Mid-Ohio, Mosport, Road Atlanta and Laguna Seca, but also to take our exciting brand and series to new venues like St. Petersburg, Long Beach and Detroit. It creates so many opportunities for our manufacturers, teams and partners." The third annual Sebring Winter Test will kick off the 2007 American Le Mans Series activities at the venerable circuit on January 22-24, 2007. Museum Member’s Corvettes Welcome For Display

To keep our Museum as a “living” Museum, displays are rotated on a regular basis. Many of the Corvettes on display in the Museum are on loan thanks to our members with loan periods generally varying from 9 to 18 months.

If you are a member, we invite you to visit our website and find out more about loaning us your Corvette for display. Specific details and a loan agreement are available via our website. Please include photos when you mail in your information.

Currently, we are planning to rotate and refresh our late 50’s Corvette exhibit area and are also looking for a 1990 Indy Festival Car. If you have a Corvette from one of these years and would like to display it in the Museum, please let us know. We encourage all owners to submit information on a possible future display car and especially one that fits our upcoming exhibit needs. More information is available via our website at: http://www.corvettemuseum.com/display/index.shtml or by contacting our Resource Center Coordinator, Betty Hardison at: betty@corvettemuseum.com or (800) 53-VETTE.

GM Sales Initiative Promotion Continues

We announced the GM Sales Initiative several months ago and the response continues to grow. We have 44 confirmed purchases and 24 verbally committed through the program.

The challenge of encouraging 100 people who currently own a non-GM vehicle (1996 MY or newer) to purchase any new GM Vehicle by December 31 was issued to us by a prominent member of the NCM who has had a long career at General Motors – resulting in a $25,000 donation to the building campaign if the challenge is met. The buyer does not have to sell or trade-in his non-GM vehicle to qualify. The initial deadline date was August 31, but the program has been extended to December 31, in order for us to continue networking with Corvette clubs and members who are considering purchasing new Corvettes and other Chevrolet and GM products. We appreciate the support of everyone who is helping us reach our goal to obtain the funds for our Building Campaign. We hope you will continue to help us reach our goal of 100 by spreading the word to your club members and fellow enthusiasts! Find out more information by visiting our website at: http://www.corvettemuseum.com/donations/sales.shtml or by contacting Connie Russell at: connie@corvettemuseum.com or (800) 53-VETTE.
