2005 Model Year Ends

The last 2005 Corvette will roll off the assembly line this week and the process will be a “running change” with 2006 models being built directly behind the last 2005 model.

A release date has not been given on Coupe / Convertibles. GM has also indicated that it will be into the 4th quarter before Z06 models will be available. We will keep you updated as information is made available.

Corvette Racing Sweeps Grand Prix of Mosport

The Corvette Race Team Scored a 1-2 Finish in Canada and the toil paid off with the team's seventh victory of the season in the American Le Mans Series.

The 2-hour, 30-minute race was literally won in the pits as a quick final stop by the crew of the No. 4 Compuware Corvette C6.R vaulted Oliver Gavin into the lead at the 2-hour mark. Gavin and his teammate Olivier Beretta scored their fifth win in their last six starts (including a victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans) to take a 1-point lead in the GT1 championship standings. The No. 3 Compuware Corvette of Ron Fellows and Johnny O'Connell finished 2.022 seconds behind its sister car as Corvette Racing posted its 30th 1-2 finish since 2001. "Strategy and pit work won the race for us," Gavin said. "We didn't have the fastest car on the track. What won it for us was the Corvette Racing team and the hard work they've put in this year." For the complete release visit: www.corvetteracing.com Corvette Racing's next event is the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta on Oct. 1. The 10-hour/1,000-mile endurance race will be televised live on the SPEED Channel (check local listings).

Corvette Racing’s C6.R Gets Profiled on TLC’s “Rides” Episode

TLC will again air an episode of its show "Rides" featuring a profile of Corvette Racing's C6.R at 3 p.m. Sept. 18.

The show focuses on the introduction of Corvette Racing's new C6.R at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. It gives a behind-the-scenes look at the team and the technology that produced this championship-winning race car. The Rides crew visited Corvette Racing headquarters in New Hudson, Mich., to film the team principals and crew as they prepared the C6.Rs for their competition debut. The show then follows the fortunes of the Corvette Racing team through the demanding 12-hour race as they experience the highs and lows of endurance racing. The "Core" episode gives viewers insight into the supercharged world of the American Le Mans Series.
