Popular Mechanics recently announced the winners of their 2006 Automotive Excellence Awards and the Corvette Z06 was recognized in the “Performance” category. The winners were chosen by the magazine’s team of automotive editors. “Our automotive team has picked the crème de la crème of the auto industry’s crop of new vehicles,” said James Meigs, editor-in-chief of Popular Mechanics. “We’re truly passionate about all new vehicles but these rise above their competitors.” The awards recognize exceptional 2006 model year vehicles in eight specific categories: functionality, design, safety, luxury, performance, energy efficiency, off-road capability and driving fun. |
