Labor Day Event - A True Celebration!

Our 13th Anniversary Corvette Celebration this past weekend was a great success and we couldn’t have done it without our members and volunteers who worked to keep things running smoothly. Over 700 people were in attendance each day and had the opportunity to meet and greet the legends of Corvette as part of the Corvette Hall of Fame banquet and activities, enjoy informative seminars, participate in the celebrity choice car show, enjoy road tours and much more!

If you were unable to attend, we hope you can join us next year. If you were in attendance, we invite you to share your thoughts with us on the activities you enjoyed and ideas on how we can make the Corvette Celebration even better. Take our online event survey and help us continue to plan events that meet your expectations. The survey is available at: http://www.corvettemuseum.com/survey/index.shtml - click on “Anniversary Celebration”. See what this year’s celebration was all about by viewing the online event coverage at: http://www.corvettemuseum.com/labor_day/labor07/LD07_1.shtml

Reserve Your Seat at the Monterey and Petit LeMans Banquets

October is a busy month for Corvette Racing and you can be part of the excitement at Monterey and Petit LeMans by reserving your seat at the dinners scheduled as part of these races. The 11th race and the 2nd endurance of the American Le Mans Series will take place at Road Atlanta in Braselton, GA, October 4 – 6.

The Corvette Corral at last year’s race was one of the largest and this year’s promises to be bigger and better than ever. In addition to the extensive list of corral activities, you will want to reserve your seat at the Friday night banquet.

In addition, you can reserve your seat at the banquet of Champions as part of the Monterey Sportscar championship scheduled for October 19 prior to the race on October 20. Find out more about both race celebration banquets at: www.corvettemuseum.com – click on events to register. Seating is limited – so reserve your spot now.

2007 Master Ambassadors Recognized

Master Ambassadors in attendance at the Corvette Celebration were recognized as part of the Lifetime/VIP dinner at the 1869 Homestead. There were 53 NCM Ambassadors this year who achieved the “Master Ambassador” status for their hard work and dedication. NCM Ambassadors play an important part in the success of the Museum – take a look at these dedicated Ambassadors at: http://www.corvettemuseum.com/ambassadors/mambas.shtml

The purpose of the Museum’s Ambassador Program is to provide Corvette clubs/organizations and enthusiasts, a two way communication link with us. By becoming involved in the functions of the Museum, Ambassadors provide assistance in helping us continue the Museum’s mission of preservation, education and celebration of America’s Sports Car. If your club does not have an NCM Ambassador, we hope that you will take a moment to find out more about this important position by visiting our website at: http://www.corvettemuseum.com/ambassadors/index.shtml or by contacting Membership Services Manager, Stephanie Morrill at: stephanie@corvettemuseum.com

New Ride for NCM Executive Director

Thanks to Courtesy Chevrolet in San Jose, California and Motorsport West, Executive Director, Wendell Strode and the NCM have been provided a 2008 Crystal Red Corvette Convertible to drive! The surprise presentation organized by the Museum’s delivery department was kept a secret, and a mock delivery that included a stand in delivery participant helped make it even more of a surprise when Wendell was handed the keys.

Wendell will share the new Corvette by engaging it in NCM activities and promotion events throughout the year. “We are proud to support the NCM,” stated John Anderson, owner of Courtesy Chevrolet. “We want to make owning a Corvette a truly exciting time in the Corvette owner’s life, and the NCM does just that. Thank you for your continued partnership throughout the years.” We appreciate the support of Courtesy Chevrolet and Motorsport West for this special opportunity.
