Welcome to "NCM Central", the electronic news report from the National Corvette Museum. Here you will find news on NCM events and happenings, Corvette Store specials, GM Corvette Assembly Plant updates, Corvette Racing reports and more.

NCM FOUNDER AND RETIRED PLANT EMPLOYEE PASSES

Darrel Bowlin, the first NCM Executive Director and one of the Museum's founders passed away yesterday. When the Museum was in the very early stages of ideas and planning, it was Darrel as an employee of the Corvette Plant that the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce Corvette Museum Task Force worked with the most. He spent many, many hours and days in making sure the idea for a Corvette Museum became a reality. Darrel has continued his support of the Museum by volunteering as a Celebrity Judge and doing seminars on the Museum's early years. Many of you know Darrel's wife, Jane Bowlin, who works at the Corvette Plant. Please keep Jane and the Darrel Bowlin family in your thoughts and prayers.

ONE + ONE COUNTDOWN

In less than one week, the 2003 One + One Campaign will end and only a few days are left to recruit. Over 200 new members have been recruited to date. Members who have worked hard to recruit will receive an NCM leather jotter and pen set after the campaign ends. Congratulations to our winners of this week's drawing who will receive a $25 gift certificate - Michael McCain, Gary Furumoto, Rick Blackmore, Jim Lyons, Kevin Hethcoat. The campaign ends July 31 and the countdown is on! Find out more about the campaign and membership levels by visiting our website at: http://www.corvettemuseum.com or call (800) 53-VETTE.

EXPERIENCE THE NCM XPERIENCE

Corvette owners can now have the experience of participating in a new program - the "NCM Xperience." Corvette owners can schedule a special visit to the Museum, where their Corvette receives an exterior cleaning and is then displayed on the floor of the Museum delivery area, similar to the highly requested R8C Program. Guests are given a VIP plant tour and Museum tour as part of the program, and are also given a one-year individual membership to the Museum, commemorative plaque, silver decal recognizing participation in the program, and an individual photograph in front of the Museum - weather permitting. Program participants also have the opportunity to purchase special merchandise showcasing the "NCM Xperience" logo and can purchase bricks in a special commemorative section. Find out more about the "NCM Xperience" by visiting our website at: http://www.corvettemuseum.com/experience/index.shtml
or contact Gary Cockriel at: (800) 53-VETTE.
