We(Mama & I) met George and his son one time at a local car show. He
was gracious enough to sign a die-cast car for me, and gave us an
autographed pic of him with "K.I.T.T", the Night Rider car. We talked
for quit a while, then he insisted on having a pic taken of us with him.
The pic was for him...not us. One of the most down to earth celebrities
I've ever met....and just a really kewl guy.

Hey Joel, thanks for posting. I heard the tail end of something this morning on the radio and they mentioned the Batmobile. Cool article, he bought the the Lincoln Futura for $1 and sold the Batmobile $4.6 mil !!

I also hadn't known that his brother Sam died in '67. I've read a lot about their earlier work and wonder what the pair would have done if Sam had lived longer.
For those of you into Barris and other early customs, here's a site I stumbled upon about a month ago. Lots of stuff on Sam and George including the fire at their early Compton location.
It's amazing to me that these old photos still exist and someone has taken the time to catalog them and post them to the net. Don't ask me what a "Fotki" is !!??
Hope the link works !!
