Mike - we may be able to work out a deal. I could drive "The Silverbuckboard" pulling my trailer to your place, load one of your cars up and haul it east while you drive the other. On the return trip put the other car on the trailer to split the miles between the cars. Think about it.
I've not been to Carlisle yet so it would excuse to go.

[/QUOTE] I think the Pace Car would have to RIDE both ways! With 25.7 miles on it that's a big part of the value! Then again, round trip would probably DOUBLE the mileage on the 78SA! I know....I'm nuts.

Now this will give me an excuse to buy a car trailer. We been going down with our truck camper. I would love to be part of this, but to be honest, could not give a 100% yes this far in advance.
It is a great goal to shoot for though.

Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed
Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.
2008 Jetstream Blue Convertible
BTW, I was at a Car Show at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (the "500" track) over the last weekend. I will get pictures up eventually, but they had one of the actual track cars there, parked just a few spots down from my car. It had only 1200 miles on it!
I also met a gentleman who owned one of the other original 3 pace cars (Al Unser owns one of the others) along with three or four other true Corvette Pace Cars.
Oh, yeah, by the way, I got to drive my '74 around the track. I took video, and IMS had a photographer at the start/finish line to take my picture as I passed over the "yard of bricks!" Don't have that shot yet, but I will share it when I do.
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!
