OK, this is my last post on the event. The show is this Sunday , the 13th of October. Look for advertizing in the Inquirer, the Daily Local and listen for us on WOGL FM 98.1 Friday and Saturday night and Sunday morning. The web site lists a phone number to call for LAST MINUTE info ( like are we called off due to rain ) www.keystonestatecorvetteclub.com
Hope to see a lot of you there. |cheers|

Glenn,
Had a great time at the show. You weren't kidding, the trophy I received for 2nd place was the biggest trophy by far I have ever won at any show! I definitely will be there next year.

Glenn: Congrats to you and your club for putting on a fine event. I was fortunate to make it home without rain, because I couldn't put the top up with that trophy! Talk about attracting attention! People were honking and waving all the way home! It was nice to see some of the other forum members' cars and talk to a few of them. I also may have found a buyer. One guy is coming tonight and another possibly tomorrow. Thanks again, Scott

I would like to thank the members of C3VR who attended my club's show. That black '70 was ( and always has been ) almost impossible to compete against. As I said, our club does not put our cars into competition and we do not vote on any of the cars so whoever won, won strictly by people's choice.
I got a kick out of the "rap" contest. Who woulda thought a '70 Vette that is street driven could beat out a NASCAR for loudness? I think the guy said he had over 1100 H.P.. I know one thing, it is a truely awesome car ! |biggrin|
George, I don't know what to tell ya guy, I would have voted for your car but I wasn't allowed to |frown|
Anyhow, thanks again to all of you who came and I look forward to seeing even more of you next year. |cheers|

Glenn,
I have to agree...while it wasn't the biggest show I've even been to, it was certainly a great show! It was well organized and the availability of food/drink was a nice touch! Also, having access to the service bays is really cool.

I plan to be there next year! Maybe we'll get some sun next time! |thumb|

Glenn. . . .

Had a great time at the show. Those trophies were huge. I was fortunate to win a 3rd place with my '78. . . and it's the biggest trophy in my collection. |bouncy| My girlfriend got 2nd with her C5. . .and it was her first trophy ever!!! Good job. |thumb| Do you get individual sponsors for each trophy? We should do that for our show.

Ron

I agree, it was a great show. I will definitely be there next year. Now all I got to do is figure out where to put a trophy that big. I think I need to build another room! |laugh|

In answer to the sponsor question, I ran around for many many hours going to different business and private individuals asking if they would sponsor a trophy for $100.00 or if they would donate a door prize. I had paperwork printed up and put together into a nice package that could be used so they could get write offs on taxes, the whole bit. You can not imagine how many people did not even want to discuss giving up so much as a door prize. My wife and I ended up sponsoring the last two first place trophys and buying $200.00 worth of door prizes just to make it look like there was more than just basement pickings there.
Glad you like the trophys. We got a real kick outta watching people trying to stuff a six foot trophy into an already over-crowded Vette.
I was very disappointed with the Hooters girls. They set up a table, looked bored and left in less than 2 hours.
Unfortunately, due to a very unappreciative club president, I refuse to have anything else EVER to do with the show. I will not even attend it again. I am sure they will have one, just like they have had for the past twenty some years, but you can bet your bottom dollar, it won't be as good. I am not trying to pat myself on the back, I am speaking from the experiance of seeing what they did before this years show and it just ain't the same job as I did.
