That's really close to me. I've driven by it a few times. That is something I want to do so bad. Unfortunately, I have no brakes at the time and I doubt they will be done by then. Sounds like a really fun event too.

Juliet,
I think that is the place I was thinking of in a different post. If you were there last year, was it postponed to a latter date? Do you remember a C4 slamming into the wall rear end first? The whole day was a lot of fun. Please thank your local chapter. Unless it is postponed again this year I am gonna have to miss it. Already have two other commitments for that day that I just can not break. Next year I will have the new engine in the car and NOTHING will keep me away.

Glenn, You might be thinking of the Drags sponsored by Tony's Corvette Shop and G'Burg Corvette Club (NCCC). That too is held once a year at the 75/80 Dragway in Monrovia MD (Just north of DC and West of Baltimore). This weekend's drags are up at Cecil County Dragway and are sponsored by Mason Dixon NCRS (a different club). Last year's Cecil County was rained out and postponed - I didn't make either though. I know at the 75/80 drags a C5 lost it big -time. The guy had spent $$$$ putting all sorts of mods & NO2 and really crossed it up banging up all 4 corners.
I'm busting my butt to get the shark back together to bring Sat. - Got the frame done the driveshaft in, the other clamps back on the lines back on.... Otherwise I'll take my C4.

Yes, this is the event...Vintage Thunder. It was postponed last year due to rain. It was great, thanks so much to your chapter! I wanted to go this year but have 3 commitments this Saturday and can not get out of even one of them. next year, with my new engine, my wife won't stand a chance of keeping me away from there. I would love to see this car do low 12s or better yet high 11s. Only problem is, i will only get one run with no roll bar...

Four or five of my club members went to the races on Saturday. The club Governor wanted to know why I was not there. I explained about my mother in law and how much she enjoyed my company in a house full of people ( yuk )
. Those that I talked to from the club said it was a great time and there were more Vettes there this year than they have ever seen before. All our guys were a little disappointed with their reaction times off the lights, but I guess that is to be expected once you go over fifty ( age not speed ).
Juliet, please thank your local chapter for us ( Keystone State Corvette Club ).

How did I ever miss this section of the site? I would have loved to attend some of these events. Not to race, but to watch others. I go fast, but not quick.
