Lets do another member dinner this year in Carlisle!

Let's first get a majority vote on which night works better, Friday or Saturday night.

Then I'll pick a location.  (Recommendations are very welcome!!)

I'm thinking 7pm should be good for all (for either night), right?

Please reply with your pick of Friday or Saturday night (or hell, we could do both!) by Friday 7/28!

UPDATE 7/25:
Based on Jeff's recommendation, I checked out the Rustic Tavern.  The atmosphere seems right, and the menu seems to have a lot of choices and reasonable prices. They also have their own parking lot.
Also, I think Friday is the best choice based on the Saturday parade.  So I've made a reservation for 20 people at 7pm at the Rustic Tavern on Friday night.  Here's a map of their location. And here is directions from the fairgrounds to their location. Please print these out and bring them with you to Carlisle to help you find it.

Please reply to this thread if you would like to join us. MAKE SURE to indicate how many people (including yourself) will be there!  If we have over 20 people, we'll have to switch to a select menu. More details on that if we get that far.

Thanks!

I think Friday might be better because some people may want to be in the Parade on Sat. night. I'm not going to be in it so either or both nights are OK with me.

It will be just me.

i might be able to recommend something.  what kind of restaurants are we talking about?  there's a new chili's that opened this year and there's always applebees.  or are you thinking something more upscale?

Last year we ate at the Comfort Suites hotel. It was nice, but hard to find.
I'd prefer we find some non-chain place to eat.  It doesn't necessarily have to be in the heart of downtown, but close is good. Certainly a place that we can make a reservation at.

What are your thoughts with that criteria in mind?

Thanks!

I'll have a "potential" vette buyer with me on Friday. Not sure if he'll want to stay that late - but I'll try to convince him. So ... Saturday would be good for me (no parade) - and maybe Friday. Agree on the "non-chain" type of place - with lots of "easy to get to" parking.

well here's a couple of places that come to mind:
the Rustic Tavern (www.rustictavern.com) this place might be hard for some to get to though.  casual place with dinners approx $16.

there's the sunnyside restaurant. (www.sunnysiderestaurant.com).  it's a little more upscale but easy to find. (most people will drive by it on their way into the show).

there's also the Ember's/Duffy's pub.  i don't have a  website address for them but it is a hotel/convention center on rt 11 going north out of carlisle.  it's easy to get to (just off rt 81 and the turnpike exit).  their dinners are in the $17 range. their phone number is 717-243-1717 / 717-245-2400

hope some of this helps.
ps. friday night is better for me.
jeff
