In one of my recent post complaining about the bad weather, I mentioned taking a ride to Bear Mountain NY. Stevep316 suggested that a group of us get together and go. I think that's a great idea  So here are some details:

It's every Wednesday, but we should try to be there no later than 6 PM. Otherwise we may not get in. I heard that around 800 cars can show up  My only problem is that I won't be available until the 12th of July. I won't even be able to check my e-mail until the 10th to check the status of our ride. Anyway here is the information and a link to help you out

The Bear Mountain State Park is at the north end of the Palisades Parkway. If you want to do a map search the zip is 10911.

The rules for this season are no cars over 1986. If your car is newer you can become an associate member of the club and will be exempt from that rule, the $2 State parking fee and get one ticket to our summer barbeque.

The cruise starts at 6pm but people start arriving after 4pm as the field is close to full (800 cars) by 7pm.

For pictures of this cruise you can visit my Photosite at

http://www.popyourhood.photosite.com/

then chose an album then click on “view slideshow” for FULL screen photos.

I hope this answers your questions. Feel free to call me if you need anything further.

Take care,

Bryan

The 26th isn't a good one for me, but the 12th is (I'll be coming back from Atlanta) Myself and a couple of friends plan to leave around 4 PM we're all taking off of work earlier. I figured rather than run up 9W and hit the GW bridge traffic, we should go up the NY thruway and cut across. That should be a nice ride.

I might be able to make it also. Went a few times last year, I went up 287 and got on the Palisades Interstate Parkway north in Nyack area.

I'm sure we can work out a good meeting place. Warbird, do you remember me, we meet at the BBQ at Paul's.

Sorry, it's a 5 hour drive and not good for us in a one day event.   Maybe another event that is closer.   Have fun.
