I hear ya buddy. I don't understand it, but I know exactly what you are talking about. Trying to get people to participate in events is like pulling teeth. I don't just mean with C3VR stuff. I'm talking about anything. Car shows, co-worker lunches or happy hours, charity participants, friends and/or family events.  I don't get it!

There are just some things i dont get about people. Like Adam listed above getting people to do things is like predicting who is going to win the lottery. it aint gonna happen to often.

I try to stay positive. Granted it is late notice for the BBQ and the timing probably could have been better but was hard to set up due to weather and other car shows and events going on earlier this month.

But it is a BBQ! there is no work involved. you don't need to bring your vette. just bring some food that might cost you 10 bucks at most and come and hangout for a couple of hours at a park with other friends that you rarely if ever see in person. It isn't rocket science. Plus it is mid-day on a sunday. therefore you will still get back home within a reasonable time if needed and plenty of time to take care of other activities and chores that may or may not need to be done.

Sorry i am venting. nothing towards anyone specifically. i just wish if they could or could not make it, they atleast acknowledge it and let us know so it doesnt sound like they are intentionally ignoring us or delteing everything we say without reading it and all.

It can be very discouraging when you are the one doing the planning.

Try to keep your chin up. At least you a handful of folks that said they are coming.

This is very similar to what kstyer went through with his BBQ in Ohio. And what I went though trying to get C3VR'ers down for dinner and/or to attend CFAC.  I was surprised at the turn out for Lukesvette BBQ. That was a good showing!

The same think happened this summer, warbird planned a barbecue at his house,  after all the planning I was the only one who showed up. What is the total number of definite shows, maybe  you should cancel it. I have a suggestion for next year, the corvette show last sunday their was 4 members., why don't we plan a c3vr gathering at this show at the garden state plaza on route 17, everthing is taken care of theres food and

great cars. We could notify the class glass corvette club and request they

set aside a parking area for our members, and we could display our banner and also recruit new members.

with you it would be 6 vettes. last year it was the same. about 6 or 7. so it is still going to be happening.

we could use drinks. salads. desserts. choose whatever. Lynne73 said they would bring something but not sure what that is.

if you look at main post at beginning you can see who is bringing what and so on.

tony.
options are desserts or drinks. alcohol is prohibited. so we are talking water or soda or iced tea.
