I'd love to go but it's the same weekend as the C3 Extravaganza - um, er, Classic Corvette Extravaganza - at the National Corvette Museum. I went for two years - until they moved the date back two weeks - and it's a blast. My last trip, we sent 735 vettes (there were about 500 more vettes just crusing around town) "down the boardwalk" - took over four hours to get them all through. "Feathering the clutch" at 3MPH for that long was a bit of a pain - but the crowd and their comments along the boardwalk made it worth it.

If you want to go, register at "www.freestatecorvettes.com"

(I think there is a "s" on "corvette" in their web site name.

We'll be in Bowling Green that weekend - but be thinking about ya.

OOOPPS!! I thought you were talking about the one in October in Ocean, MD. I'll have to look into this one.

Terry.. I just found this one on line (in NJ)..  I will be going to the one in October at OC Md. as it's a lot easier ride for us than Bowling Green (one of these days we will make it tho)... we went to the Free State show last year and did have a blast there...

I went to this show last year. The vettes initially meet at the Ocean City Airport. The parade they talk about is really getting all the vettes from the air port to the board walk. The town gets cut in half and blocked for about 30 minutes. The people that live in town aren't overly thrilled with the inconvenience. Once you get to the boardwalk the tourists are all cheering. Most of the boardwalk shops were open and discounting everything. It was a nice sunny day, I met some really nice people and I had a good time. I'll most likely go again this year. Beware there is an award for the vette the gets blasted the worst with sea gull poo and there were plenty of contestants. Leaving the show early once you're on the boardwalk is an issue. It can be done but it's not fast.

not crazy about that, especially if it's hot that day.... it's hard enough keeping clean without them.... Ocean City, MD has a similar problem, but I have luckily ducked them. Maybe I will wait until the Free State Corvette show in OC, Md.
