Unhappy They are calling for Snow, Sleet, and FREEZING rain in the North East. Ouch It will be in the 2 hour range for us in Good weather. In my S-10 in Yuk, and depending on the abilities of the other drivers, it will no doubt be longer.  We would be in for another time also. M-n-S

Man I'm out of sync, I thought this thing was last weekend and over already Embarrassed

Hope it works out for you all, We had snow and then rain, and then freeze, the other day. It was a tough choice to clean my driveway or not. If I did'nt then I'd have frozen tire ruts till spring, If I did then I'd have glare ice after the rain.
For those that know my drive way......well we have been sliding down it every morning. We sound like that pig on the GEICO commercial.....WHEEEEEE WHEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

If you all cancel and reschedule let us know, wrestling will be over first week of Feb and then we are open for travel.

Sounds to me like weather will be pretty crappy no matter what. At this point, I'd recommend just picking a new date in the future, maybe the March timeframe.

Well, Here we are on friday morning at 0745.  The weather here now is a lite dusting, with an inch expected over nite. Saturday here has a projected covering of 4-5 inches of snow. The program in Allentown at the fair grounds will happen no matter what. It is my opinion that if people want to meet and visit, so be it. The restaurant can still fill the tables if we do not have a full complement of reservations. It will be fun and fulfilling to see our friends and visit, but we do not have to risk our lives for a hug or hand shake. It is a individual decision to make. Chime in for other advice, weather and an alternate date if we decide to meet again somewhere. M-n-S   Dan, Dave, Barry, others?  What do ya think?

Looks like I won't be coming.  The forecast for Allentown does not look conducive to travel in any vehicle. I'd rather wait for a nicer day to catch up with everyone.

Tonight
nt_chancesnowCloudy...snow...mainly after midnight. Snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches. Lows in the mid 20s. East winds around 5 mph. Chance of snow 80 percent.
Saturday
snowSleet. Snow in the morning. Total snow accumulation of 4 to 6 inches. Highs in the mid 30s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph...becoming north in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation 80 percent.

Dan will have to see what the atest forecast is, I think I'll hold off until this afternoon to make a final decision. How about it, Dan?

Here's the latest for the area by the weather channel:
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOUNT HOLLY HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WATCH... WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING.

* LOCATIONS... PORTIONS OF THE LEHIGH VALLEY AND NORTHWEST NEW JERSEY.

* HAZARD TYPES... SNOW AND FREEZING RAIN.

* ACCUMULATIONS... SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 4 TO 8 INCHES... ALONG WITH UP TO A TENTH OF AN INCH OF ICE. Ouch

* TIMING... .SNOW WILL OVERSPREAD THE REGION AFTER MIDNIGHT... FALLING WITH VARYING INTENSITY INTO SATURDAY MORNING. THE SNOW WILL GRADUALLY MIX WITH OR CHANGE TO SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN.

* IMPACTS... TRAVEL WILL BE HAZARDOUS ESPECIALLY ON UNTREATED ROADWAYS. Cry

* WINDS... NORTHEAST 5 TO 10 MPH.

* TEMPERATURES... IN THE UPPER 20S.

* VISIBILITIES... AS LOW AS ONE-HALF MILE AT TIMES. Thumbs Down

At this point I tend to agree with everybody else that we start working on an alternatve meeting time and place. I kinda liked the previously mentioned Scranton area which would make it easier for the northern folks to also attend. Date??? Whenever as far as I'm concerned. Start throwing the ideas into the ring Exclamation

For me personally, Scranton is too far. Allentown is a decent distance for me, about 1 hour drive.  Scranton is twice that.  If it were a weekend long thing, 2 hours wouldn't be too bad, but a 4 hour round-trip drive for a 2 hour lunch doesn't add up for me.

So, as of now, the date and time for Saturday January 21st at 1000 hrs in Allentown,Pa. is CANCELED!

Could the possibility exist to meet at the CROSSINGS MALL in Stroudsburg, Pa. ? It is at the intersection of Rt. 33, Rt. 80, and 611. I think it is more like the Tannersville, Pa. area.

That would certainly be of some interest to the ladies..don't know about the guys. It is Tannersville, right off the Route 80 exit. It would be an easy place to find. As far as eating there are serveral restaurants in the area. Camelback ski area is just minutes away if someone would want to make a ski weekend out of it.
