Vette(s): 1976 L48 4-spd, Mahogany Metalic exterior, Buckskin interior 350ci/350hp, 3rd owner, fiberglass spring, 255/50-16's Torq-Thrust II
I hooked up with the Yakima Corvette Club today for the Yakima spring barrel tasting event put on by the wineries. Julia and I had a great time. Beautiful scenery and some great wines to sample. This is the first road trip with the new motor. It ran great! its amazing how easily the engine spins up. Put about 350 miles on it and got about 13 gpm. There were 3 C3's, 8 or so C5's and 2 C6's. This is the first time I had the opportunity to meet this group. They were sure a lot of fun. Did have one mishap at the end of the day. One of the C3's lost it and went off the road
. Thanks god no one was hurt but the vette is going to need a lot of work. All in all a great day
. We now have 4 more bottles of wine in the cabinet. Time to go and check the vette over, tomorrow will be bath time to get all the bugs off.

Wow sounds like a great day Glen
I can't stand wine but Pam would love that, I like the driving and the scenery
Sounds like a great idea to me.

Glad the Vette ran good, sorry to hear about the other C3 though

Here is a map of the Yakima Valley Wineries
We did go to Columbia Crest winery not show on the map. That is one huge place.
Sounds like a great time. Maybe next time, just a couple of pics of the event would be nice. I consider myself part of your group tho I actually live in CA. I am only 2 miles from the OR border. thanks, steve

74 coupe 4 speed 350, 54K actual miles,
all original; paint, interior, engine,
split bumper. #'s match. 2nd owner, no stress cracks.
Wow I knew Yakima had a bunch of wineries but not that many, how many did you all hit? I think we could make a plan for this trip next year to get more Vettes involved, that would be a blast

I was going to take pictures but need to get new rechargeable batteries for the camera. I grabbed the camera only to find the batteries dead
. I will see if the club can email some of the pic's to me.
I think it would take me a month to hit all of them Mark. The map does not show the ones just over the hill on the Columbia River. I live near the valley (1-1/2 hrs away) and never realised that there was that many too. When I first moved to Eastern Washington (for 3 months) in 1983 the industry was just getting going out here. I only remember seeing a few around. Now its a huge industry out here.
