Anyone going to hot august nights this year. I'll be going for the first time and could use some advice on what to do/see or what not to miss.

Umm not me I'm blowing my one trip a year to Nevada on the C3VR Gathering, sure would love to go though.  Last year I went to "Mopars at the Strip" in Vegas, wait maybe that was two years ago Pinch  Oh ya my trip last year was 4th of July Weekend stranded at the Airport in Vegas for four days, couldn't think of a better place to be stranded LOL cilrah2007-02-03 15:58:39

Stranded at the Vegas airport does sound alot more fun than being stranded at Sea-TacLOL

Lots of cars.  All older than 73.
 
  Watch Virginia Street for the nightly cruise.  I always stayed at the Motel 6 corner of Virginia and Plumb and we just took our lawn chairs out to watch the cruise.  The big cruise is Sat. night, do not miss. 
 
Also Check out the C1 Nomad at the Peppermill car show. And the cars for sale and swap meet at the Fairgrounds. 
 
All the Casinos have car shows, plus downtown car show; everyday and everynight.   Don't forget the Nugget in Sparks. 
 
Have fun!!!  Tell us all how it was when you get back.  Where are you staying?

Thanks for all the info. We're staying at the Circus Circus. They are supposed to have very good security. I'm going with a friend (with a very nice big block 70 Charger) who has 2 vehicle passes and is going to let me use one so I can get my car in.

Good motel, you are right on Virginia street, downtown.  5,500 cars are registered this year.  also see www.hotaugustnights.net for more info....
