So who is going to Bend in July and Who wants to get together for a convoy down from the Northwest Region? I know we had a blast when we went down to Carson City together, I think this trip could be just as much fun. What do you think, let me know.

Depends on your route. If you go I84 out the Columbia Gorge I could meet you at Biggs Junction. Then we could head south on Hwy 97 suncountry 2010-06-04 19:23:12

Thats a great plan.
7643, Larry and myself will be leaving the Elma area and cutting across 12 and can meet anyone coming from the north at exit 88. Then lets pick up folks as we head on south!
Just need a time.

Mark & the NW Convoy to Bend,
Do yourselves a big favor & stop at the Peter Skene Ogden Wayside State Park:
This State Park and rest stop is located a few miles north of Redmond. This is a pleasant rest stop with three bridges that span the Crooked River gorge. There is a railroad bridge that is about 100 years old, a highway bridge that is no longer in use, and the new highway bridge. You can walk out onto the old highway bridge and look down into the gorge for an unbelievable view, about 300-350 feet if I remember, (bring your bungie cords!!). There are a couple of small waterfalls that spill over the side of the sheer cliffs and drain into the river. Peter Skene Ogden was an early fur trader who led the first recorded journey into Central Oregon in 1825. He later discovered Mt. Shasta and the city of Ogden, Utah is named for him. There are several informational signs about him and Central Oregon located within this park.
Most definitely worth the stop, and it has bathrooms too!!!
