Topic: we met @ the meet &pics
in Forum: North West Region Events
We missed the rain for the week end swap meet, and we were able to meet with a few guys from the site on friday and on sat. Friday there was a total of four of us that met for the first time: Bob (rraider1) brian (clueless to his web name) and mike (82mike) who says that brian is just clueless, I just met him so hard to tell. We all had a pic or two of our vettes, b.s. for acouple hours and make a piont to meet on sat. Sat bob didn't make it back but we picked up max lein who has a 77, BTW brain drives a 69 milliunumn yellow coupe ( i know I ain't spelling it right). We got one picture of the four of us taken by a c3 for sale at the swap meet, had to talk a ford gut into taking it, he took two shots but only one shows up, ( dough head ford guys) anyway I'll try to post the pic soon somewhere for all to see, most important thing is that I met with four great guys from the site that makes the site even that much better for all of us, well at least my.. We talked and made minor plans to meet later, lots of miles between us.
All in all it was a great time, glad I took the effort to meet with them, it was well worth it. On a side note there was a hard top for a 68-73 there, painted red, looked like all was there asking 950.00. I didn't buy it or make any offers since I had no idea of the value, any one have any thoughts. Love this site.....Larry
P.S. to mike, brian, bob, and max thank you for meeting with me, I enjoyed it totally and I felt so comfortable talking , like if wasn't the first time, and greatly look forward to the next time. Larry
Here is a link to the links, I have to apoliges to the ford guy I got the two pics. http://members.cardomain.com/1970corvette pics for portland are on page three.

For all of you that didn't show, you missed a great time. It was great to meet and chat with Larry, Bob, Max, Clueless-(Brian), and John, Larry's car smart father-in-law. As Larry, (1BADLT!), said, it was real comfortable, like we've known each other for years. The weather was great, seeing how rain was forcasted for the weekend, (Mother Nature must be a Corvette fan!
). There was quit a bit of Corvette literature available. Larry, found a corvette magazine I've never seen before, "Corvette News". It was a quarterly publication sent by Chevrolet Motor Division for a period of one year at no charge to purchasers of new Corvettes. I doubt that it is still offered. A great find. I am diffinetly looking forward to the next meeting of the northwest members. Thanks again Larry,
mike
