Vette(s): had a really nice one. sold it to a good friend. Purchased 2004 custom coupe in Feb. 2009 did not tell anyone here until August 2009. BAD I KNOW.
Yes that is not a typo.  Took daughters wheel chair accessible dodge mini van, yes mini van, to a body shop today to have rear shock mount fixed, wife drove over concrete parking barrier and daughters assistant have drove van on extra bumpy wavey old hiway.  make a long story short, van rode funny and squeked awefull, they were able to strighten it put when they went to get shocks it showed on the screen. $349.00 or $367.00 each...
nice to know that mini van parts are more expensive than vette parts, have not told wife yet, going to call outfit that did the mobility conversion to see what they can to say, nice to know that my mini van stumped the body shop, just wanted to share the cost of mini van shocks. go figure. BTW, the shop did not charge me for the time on the frame machine or there labor, must have really stumped them.

Larry, if the van has a McPherson strut suspension, they can be expensive. The strut is the shock, AND the suspension carrier. Kinda like a big ol' coil-over shock set-up, but the alignment is handled by moving the strut around.
It may be that the conversion replaced the stock struts with heavy dooty ones, or even adjustable(air/hydraulic) and that is why they are so expensive.
Bummer, tho...
