Will you mention "Drive it like you stole it"............I always did. I have many many more episodes....I'm lucky that I didn't hurt anyone or property. I actually had a quarter mile marked off to practice. I had painted a large yellow stripe with "start" and one end and a stripe with "finish" at the end of the quarter. Each night I would burn the tires and do the quarter. During the summer the city would blacktop over the markings.........each night I would repaint. This drove the badge crazy..........they knew it was me but couldn't catch me. One night I parked near the finish line behind a house that was vacant. I painted the finish, ran up the steet, painted the start. I had just got finished when I kind of heard/saw something. Coming up the street was the police, lights out going as slow and quiet as possible. There were two in the car....windows were opened. I could hear them all upset about how the markings were repainted and them not catching me in the act. I was hiding behind a bush with paint and brush shaking all over from fright. I waited for what seemed an eternity for them to leave, allowing extra time just to be comfortable. I ran back to my car with paint and brush.........and drove home. After that "close encounter" I never painted the quarter mile markers again..............I was nuts.........but not that nuts. I can tell of much more insanity...........it just goes on and on. I was afraid of ever having kids.........I was afraid they would turn out like me............that was way too scary

My buddies were constantly pulling stunts like that and I'd much rather hear the stories than be there, seriously, I scare easy, something about dying or doing major hospital time  Pinch Disapprove I dunno.[/QUOTE] Jimmy tell us about some of the stunts...............if you do...........I'll tell you many more of my stunts........Can they still get me for some of this..........Chip? Chip you probably think "what an idiot"........if you do..........all that I can say is..........I was....at least I got a bit older and maybe a little bit wiser........

Well Larry, one episode that comes to mind is when my buddy, after trashing his 66 mustang fastback ( I drove a 65 2+2) decided to move up to something fast ( 1969 chevelle SS396 ) and I made the mistake of joining him for a ride one night. He was just going to the town next door ( 10 mi. away ), On the way back he decided to see what she would do ( we knew she was a tire burner, but ), on a long, straight downhill slope he punched it and announced his intentions. We cruised at 140 for a few miles and I was ready to pee myself ( mind you, I have no trouble with these speeds while I'm driving, but I don't care to be a passenger when exceeding 60 ) at about the 3 rd mi. the motor let go, froze solid ( w/auto tranny ), and as we SPUN down the highway at that speed, it didn't occur to me to ask him to try for neutral so that the rear tires might spin free again. Thank God, we did come to a stop upright, offroad and unscathed. It was at that point in life that I remember starting my mental file of "Who not to get into the car with, for any reason". He abandoned that sweet ride where he left it. We walked home successfully.

Then there was the time when about 3:00am we all decided to see who had the best top end speed so out on to the freeway we went. 3 cars, a 65 Plymouth w/383 built, a 58 T-bird w/352 ? 390, and my mustang 2+2 (w/a little mtr. work). 2 lanes each way, we all headed out in pace til we reached about 100 and then put the pedal down. The Mopar lead the way and kinda blocked us while I tried to do the t-bird ( easier said than done ) we were side by side at 120 when the Plymouth took the ramp to another freeway, the T-bird followed and naturally I wasn't going to let him take me that way so I joined them, side by side with the T-bird ( the mustang was built for autocross ) and since I was still pullin on the bird and the turn didn't faze me I kept the hammer down. As we came out of the turn my speedo was pegged and the Plymouth let up. As I thought about passing,  all these thoughts came to mind including the fact that I had my girl friend with me (what a DUMAS I am. But she insisted on joining). I let up also but the T-bird spun out about 90 mph. We all pulled up to assist but it seems the passenger in the T-bird bet the owner that the car would roll if it spun out at that speed. the driver won that bet when he cranked the wheel to the right, and it didn't Confused

Soo, on another occasion, after a Saturday National Guard drill...the guys wanted to see my 427 Vette do it's "stuff". I had street tires on the back. I got on a 4-lane concrete road, and wound out first gear, power shifted into second, and the car went from one side of the 4 lanes to the other. All I kept seeing was telephone poles and curbs. Luckily further ahead the traffic light was holding back the oncoming traffic. I had all 4 lanes to do me stupid tricks. I was totally freaked out. I finially hooked it down a side street and snuck home driving as slow as possible. I put on my M&H Racemaster slicks and never took them back off.

Another time I was to race a Hemi in a industrial section of Cleveland. We were all parked in a private lot waiting to race, when the "badge" showed up. I was the lead vehicle, but they put a stait edge against my front end...which was 2 inches over the sidewalk. They issued me a parking ticket. I went sort of nuts as they walked away. All the other guys were trying to keep me in control so that I didn't tick off the police. The ticket was $2.00, and they gave me the money to keep me calmed down. I was just mad and stupid. Ok your turn.............I have many many more bad behavior encounters.........rolling cars, drag racing busts, almost taking out the flagman at the strip etc...........
