An Indian Chief and his son were talking one day and the son asked the Chief: "Father, how is it that Indians have such different names?"
The Chief answered:
"Well my son when an Indian couple conceive a child they take note of anything special that happened at that moment and name the child to suit. Such as with your brother a deer ran past the tee-pee so we named him Running Deer. With your sister there were bright silver clouds overhead so we named her Siver Cloud.
Why do you ask "Broken Rubber"?

That's similar to the way I heard it, only it is the Chief who names the new born.
The first thing the Chief sees when he comes out of the mother's tent after the child is born is the name given.
Red Hawk. Whispering Wind. Two Dogs F_cking. Buffalo Sh_t. You get the idea.
