NO, not another Vette!!! Another Yorky baby! This is 2 1/2 year old Scooter. How someone could give up this little guy is a mystery to me.

He gets along with all the others great, especially last years rescue, Mickey.
But we had to put our mattress back on the floor AGAIN cause he likes to jump off things without thinking.
Please, if you can, adopt from a shelter!!

Mike, amazing timing that you would post this. Our long time pet "Tony" (a cat) passed away a few months ago. My wife has been battling cancer (mutiple myeloma) for a couple of years and would like to have another "friend" to keep her company. It took her a while to be ready again for a new pet and she just started looking for an "older" pet to adopt. It's been a toss up between another cat and a dog. Cat's tend to be easier to take care of but she is thinking about a dog.
I'm going to show her this picture of Scooter. She will go crazy over it and want a dog (I hope)

Micky, I KNOW I like dogs more than people! Maybe cause they all seem to like me!
My brother's wife works for the South Suburban Humane Society(Chicago).
She let's me know of any upcoming raid(yes, raid. They've shut down several puppy mills the last few years)and any Yorkies that come into the shelter.
We've also kept in touch with a couple of small dog rescue groups.
Plus, EVERYONE we know knows we'll take any Yorky into the pack!
Twigs came from a puppy mill shutdown. 8 years ago. She had aggression problems but is recovered, altho she still jumps on poor Gidget, but gently!
Wrigley came from a friend of a relative. Several different excuses why they couldn't keep him but it didn't really matter. He fit right in.
Mickey actually came from a breeder we knew but couldn't sell him because of his leg problems. We didn't want to see him harmed so......$$$ later and he's good as new!
Scooter was given up by a woman who was having a baby. Very well taken care of. Baby and dog...too much work?
Gidget we had from birth. As was her late sister, Little Bit.
Past dogs, Petey and Kiki, Gidgets parents. Both given up by others.
Right now, sitting at the computer with my feet up on the arm of the couch, 3 of them are laying on my lap and legs(maybe why my legs always ache!).
Mike, you are one very special person to do all that. Dogs do understand who they can trust. I aggree with you about liking dogs more than people. My wife thinks I'm part dog. Just about every dog out there within a few minutes will take to me. I've had people upset with me because their "mean" will be rolling over letting me scratch their belly. I love and understand dogs much better than most people. I'm picturing the dogs by you........it makes me smile.
