OK for the last couple of nights we have been bombed by a skunk.  I mean eye burning,  breath stealing, nose running attack.  It's been so strong we can't sleep in part of the house.  Not to worry, just the part of the house where the bedrooms are.  I'm willing to bet one of the neighbors scared him out of his usual haunt and he's looking for another and seems to have found one under our front porch.

I'm betting he's spraying most of the local cats (ours have been spared) who seem to use our porch as a meeting place.  Yeah, that is weird.  Our cats are spayed or neutered yet there is this posse of about 6 that hang out here.

So I checked and these seem to be my options.  Throw fox urine around to scare the skunk away.  After chasing a fox around for three hours I finally gave up.  Next put bright lights and some moth balls under there.  I did that.  I have 3 500 watt work lights out there and 2 lbs of moth balls.  I could trap it, which is my next option.  Lastly, get used to it...not really an option.

I'm probably just going to bait and shoot it...in my neighbors yard.

Have you actually seen it? It may have run up under the house and died....I had that happen once.
You can buy fox pee at farm stores, if there are any in your area. Chasing one doesn't seem like such a good idea...you want to be able to pour the pee around the house...it don't do much good if it's on YOU....LOL

I saw it, rotten little.... I Shot it with a pellet gun to scare it off.  It spun around to look for whatever hit it and raised it's tail but I had the window closed before it saw me.  After it trotted toward a neighbors yard I opened the window back up to see if it sprayed, because I didn't smell anything, but it hadn't.  We haven't smelled it in the yard since.  Been about a week and it seems to be moving on down the road.  The neighbors seem to be calling pest control one at a time as the skunk makes it's visit to their property.   Wondering if the pest control guy owns a trained skunk?
