If you have a choice, I'd recommend getting a belt drive, oil lubricated  compressor over an oil-less type. If you do get the oil-less type, you might want to pick up an extra hose to get that noisy thing away from your work area. My 2 cents. Wink
I agree as I've used many compressors over the  years now. Look at the air tools you plan on using & they will tell you what the min pressure & CFM that is needed. I use a 7HP 60 Gallon Vertical Bel driven oil filled compressor now & have no problems with any air tools especially sanders.

No doubt!!

I was gonna mention the oil-less thing, but I didn't think it would matter at the size Adam was looking at. I don't like oil-less compressors, either, and not just for the noise. There is more of a durability issue than noise, imo. For just airing up a tire every now and then, or blowing the grass out of yer shoes after weed-eating, they're fine. Just not good for using constantly.

I replaced my Tired and Proven 3.5 HP Craftman with one of the new oiless ones with the same rateing. Big Mistake it can't keep up with Air Tools the old one could. I knew I had made a mistake when I was all done installing it in my Shop and went to Wire it and the Motor didn't have the 220 Volt Option. It makes a much more anoying Sound to Boot. Richard...

I agree with the guy's Adam. I'd like to see you get one with a bigger tank and more HP.  I have 3 compressors including a pancake like the one your looking at. Even when I use the blow gun it empties quickly and looses air too fast. I got one from Harbor Freight. Pretty reasonable, probably made overseas, but I use their stuff quite a bit. Terry
