Ron I'm with you 100%. As a small business owner we pay the "other half" of employees income tax and SS. If every worker would have to write a check at the end of the year for the full amount of taxes that the government gets from their employment I think they would look at things differently.
FDR's "new deal" has been around for 50 years, how much longer before we see a positive return? It's only a matter of time before there are more riding in the cart than pulling it, then what?
I will always support this country because it is the best in the world! But I will always do what I can to make it better.
We survived Jimmy Carter so don't think he can be worse.
If everyone agreed on things this would be a boring place.

I agree with all of the viewpoints here. It is a collective arrangement. However I do not feel the need to sit back and allow the new president elect to spin his rhetoric and allow the tv news and news papers to tell us we were all wrong by voting for McCain.

With out our diffenent views and belifes we would not be the greatest nation in the world. But somewhere along the way there has to be middle ground. There must be compromise! I do not see a full democrat Congress, House, and White House as permitting middle ground! There will be far more left issues raised and far more conservitives attacked in the comming years than there will be liberals.
But hay We ALL LOVE CORVETTES so lets go with THAT AND allow the rest to fall into place.

Marsahall I knew there was a reson I liked you.... You speak your mind and I repect that.
I would hope others would feel free to do the same.
Shucks truth be known I was a Ron Paul backer but didn't see that he was going to make it....
Now that it's over lets hope all can get to work.....
Speaking of the Republicans (and I am one) WTH has George and our fellow congress persons (politically correct version) been doin all of this time while the others were planning a future? Sure didn't seem like much to me....
I would have liked to see him fixing some of the problems that the other guys appeared to already be working on.

Different opinions are what America stands for so I'm not upset with any statement on this thread.
There is one more thing that's on my mind and that is ........ NO President can make ANY CHANGE unless the House and the Senate approve it........period.

Well, We wanted change, and I am sure we will get it. We are going to get SPANKED by the other hand. Remember who created this globe. GOD is still the supreme being, and what is in his plan will come to pass. America is slowly leaveing GOD out of everything. This country was built on BIBLICAL principals, and until we bring them back, our future will continue to go on a downward spiral. Change comes one heart at a time. NO earthly leader can help us if he believes in a DEAD god. LOTS of children will be sucked from the womb, and our guns will be sent to Iraq to make objects of worship. The auto parts companies will be working overtime to make fan belts to hold the towels that Martha Stewart makes around the heads of our new administration in Washington. Will GOD BLESS AMERICA? Only if we give him the respect he deserves. We will have PEACE with GOD when we have the PEACE of GOD. MARK

AMEN! I voted for Obama too. Really thought we didn't have much of a choice. McCain wasn't bad BUT (and I'm really going to piss off the guys now) we need something other than a male WASP (white anglo-saxon protestant). Personally, I would have preferred a female as our first non-cookie cutter president but this one works too. I also thought McCain would be more of the same which obviously is not working.
By the way, I see this as one of my purposes in life...to cancel Mikey's vote!

I voted for Obama and I'm proud of it. But if McCain had won, I would support him and hope that he would help the country recover.

You know, I had a bad day yesterday, and apparently didn't sleep well last night (or at all this week - been traveling out of town for business). I've regretted hitting "submit" to my post all day. Not neccessarily for what I said, but for how I said it. Plain and simple, I was grumpy and took it out on some of you.
However, I appreciate the support and reactions that have come out since I put my words up this morning.
Tux, as to your Ron Paul comment, I also proudly say that I voted for Ross Perot back in '92.
Mark, I can't say I agree 100% with you, and I think you may have gotten some bad information regarding Mr. Obama's beliefs, but I think we've had enough controversy for today

I saw a great billboard tonight on the way back to the hotel. It looked like this:
VS * US
Nov 4 Nov 5
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!
