Shhhh.... I just bought my wife one of these for xmas.
She's a big reader. She saw this on Oprah last week. It is Oprah's latest "favorite gadget". It's the Amazon Kindle.
While it is a bit pricey, it is incredibly convenient (no more trips to the bookstore) or even the computer. It is completely wireless. You don't need to ever connect it to a computer. It works using cell-phone technology (without a need for a phone or to subscribe to a plan). So anywhere you can get a cell signal, you can buy a book. Books for download are cheaper than buying the printed version and you save paper. Also, it's lighter than most books.
Check out the info below. Maybe you'll want one for yourself or to give as a gift.
If anyone has one already, feel free to chime in here and let us know what you think of it.
Link to see more about it on Amazon or to purchase is is below the videos....
Here's CNETs review of it (about a year old already):
Here's Oprah talking about one of its features:

I just ordered me one from ebay. Cheaper than from amazon. It will also be delivered in a reasonable time frame. Amazon was not goin to ship it till December. Looks cool. This was the first I have seen of it. I always hate rummiging thru a book store or thru the Library to find a book. This will be much more convienient.
