We'll see what the senators (Electoral) will pick for our President.    We don't pick the president.  We just watch and listen to their lies....  Angry

I don't normally like to get into political discussions, but it does seem odd that he picked a completely unknown and inexperienced person for Vice President.  Kinda makes ya wonder what he was thinking.

This is perhaps the riskiest manuver ever by a major political party. Obviously the thought was to pick up disenchanted Hillary supporters and those that may have been sitting on the fence. Very risky because they may lose more votes than they gain assuming the Hillary scenario has merit. This could spell big trouble for the Republicans. I doubt seriously that McCain picked her. This was RNC strategists at work. Only time will tell.

Any women who has five children, lifetime NRA, likes to fish, can shoot and gut a moose, who is Governer of a state the size of Alaska. Makes a lot more since than a senator from Ill. who has spent 144 woking days in the senate voting present.

Vette(s): 1972 Corvette Coupe. 350/200 Automatic with PS/PB/PW and A/C. Beautiful Bryar Blue. Unmolested original. Shooting for NCRS Top Flight someday.

Realizing we are all friends here, I tried as much as I could to resist jumping in, but here goes anywaySmile

Some things to consider:

Sarah Palin began serving in political office in 1992. Barack Obama began serving in 1997. So by some simple math: Palin's been in public office FIVE years longer than Obama. Joe Biden has been in the U.S. Senate forever. So, in terms of total years of public service, the three stack up as follows:

1. Biden
2. Palin
3. Obama

In terms of executive experience, there's not even a contest. Sarah Palin first served in an executive capacity in 1997 (Mayor of Wasilla), and took over her first state-level executive branch position in 2003. Then she became Governor of Alaska in 2006. Barack Obama has never served in an executive capacity at any level, and Joe Biden has never served in an executive capacity at any level. So, in terms of executive experience, the three stack up as follows:

1. Palin
2. Biden and Obama (tied, with zero each.)

I don't like to discuss politics with friends either, but I have to say my first impression of Sarah is that of the four, she would make the best president.

Try to stay focused on the facts and ignore the mud.

Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses. 2008 Jetstream Blue Convertible
Does anyone realize that just last week when a reporter asked her about her possibilities of a Veep nod, she asked the reporter "just what does a Vice president do all day?"

I'm with Scott (ranger3) - he chose her to try to get Hillary's votes.  That's good for about 15 minutes of publicity, but not much more.

A state the size of Alaska?  Is that like being mayor of the moon?  The town she was a mayor of has about 9,000 people.

Hope I've sufficiently stirred the pot some more here...

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!
