Apparently, the Economic Development Administration has a lack of grey matter. Thinking that a “virus” was infecting their computers, took a hammer to their computers, keyboards and mice to physically destroy every piece of technology they had after incorrectly believing their network had been hacked.” “Not only was the reaction unorthodox and unnecessary, it cost $2.7 million in damages -- more than half the agency’s annual technology budget!”
Why would anyone with at least two brain cells think a “computer virus” would be in a keyboard or mouse? And why would anyone pay $823,000 on hiring the cyber-security contractor to tell them they had a “minor malware” and then do such a ridiculous thing?
