I'm not even gonna bother with the insurance...waste of time/energy for $500, especially since I would have to fork out the initial $1500.
I was in my garage last nite, and happened to see a decal/insert for the front of my MIG welder I had ordered to replace the one that got damaged in a shop fire in '95. Son of a B i t c h!!! My friggin welder was down there, too, and I just realized IT was gone...
As well as my Sandblaster! Dammit, every time I think about the stuff down there, I remember something else that the s c u m bags stole....
Dennis, I can't really fault the cops...there really wasn't much they could do. I did have to b i t c h and moan to get them to send a "CSI' down to check it out. The punks used gloves, so there weren't any prints to get....Adams' Apple 2007-05-16 19:49:03

Our sympathies for your loss bro. This is kind of a wake up call for those of us who have a lifetime accumulation of tools and equipment. We figure we're insured but I don't remember being very pleased with the outcome of the few claims I've made to my insurance co. in the last 20 yrs. When I look at the figures on my policy for replacement of personal property it seems reasonable until I consider my tools, and "HOLY crap", they are not even coming close to insuring us, and I don't have near what you had Joel and it seems locks are just to keep honest people out. It's almost impossible to stop a determined thief

OMG Joel, I know what your talking about now in your instant message.
Kathy told me, I was with here when you called her a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't believe it! Last week she said they got some of your Beatle Albums too, but she didn't know which ones. What A S S H O L E Mother, Baby & Father F U C K E R S they are!
I know how you feel, I've had stuff stolen too.

Karma has to GET THEM M.F.'s. I wish there was something I could say or do to make it all better for ya bro, honestly. I hope they get caught.
Vent all you want.......you have a right!

Keep on venting if it helps. There is nothing worse than a thief. I also understand your frustration with the cops. I'm generally not impressed with local law inforcement of any flavor. I know this doesn't help, but the son's of b i t c h e s who did this will get theirs eventually. Karma is truly a vengeful beast - it just takes time. I think I'll go out and shoot some video of the stuff in the garage now....
