I'm in Western NY and my younger brother lives in San Francisco.  Anyone have info on a brake shop that would do an inspection on his ford cheap or free.  He wants me to head out that way and replace the pads for him but to be honest he has no clue on what could be wrong with the brakes.  I was heading out there next month anyway so I'd only be getting there sooner not forking over the cash for the trip just to do the brakes.  He does not have anywhere to do a larger job than just a simple pad change nor does he have the tools so I'll be bringing my own. I'd hate to get out there and find out there is a major problem.

Thanks, Dave

What kind of Ford, model, year are we talking about. My daughter lives in Santa Cruz, and I'm in the foothills, about 125 mi. away from S.F. I pass within 30 mi. when visiting her, every couple of months (if he'd be willing to pay for gas, I may be able to take the trip down the hill and take a look). PM me if you think I can help.
