I use a radar detector in Alberta it is not illegal here yet. The detector I use is a 12 band Cobra, it lets me know of Photo Radar, Red Light Cameras, Laser Radar, Emergency Vehicles approaching, and it also has a Radar Detector Detector blocking ability. It has saved me about $4000 in tickets so far and I would not leave home without it. Check it out http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2504146&cp=2032059.2032321&parentPage=family
It is the best investment in a long time for me. I use it in BC as well and they are illegal there to mind you it is not in plain view all the time either.
Anyway good luck Stephane

I guess this adds credance to the ol adage "You can run, but you can't hide.

well coming from an experienced speeder: 95+ in a 30 in my MGB many years ago, a 70 in a 55 on a Friday and the first vette ticket a 65+ in a 30 (did not realize that road was only 30) on the following Monday, and a few others in there someplace, I have a little expertise in this field: I paid the Friday ticket on that Monday morning, then that afternoon got the other one, went to court and got the vette ticket DEFERED, had to pay a small fine and keep myself from any moving vilotions for a year, and it is like it never happened, this last July 11th was a year. Gentlemen start your engines!!!
I should look into a radar detector.
