10-4 on the copper prices Dave. The price is high because we are shipping so much to China, so they can make stuff and sell it back to us. Being in the radiator business & scrap copper often. They are paying anywhere from $1.50 lb.-$2.00. How do you think I paid for my paint job? "T"

Well...at least now I know who to tell the cops to check into!
They got 3 more from us last nite!!!

Left one of their sawz-all blades laying on the ground!
I've heard now that they are getting them from parking lots at events, such as ball games, too! What a bunch of low-lifes!

(not you, Terry!)

Converter? That's me. I'm converted from a low-life thief to a high-life thief, acording to Joel.Rolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughing 3 in one night? Man I'd think about putting a big ole Doberman out there.AngryCensored

This guy does a pretty good job of keeping the weirdos out! I just hope he mellows a little with age, he just turned 2 and still gots a lot of puppy in him.
I tried to dump mine but the good ol boy at the dump convinced me to take it down to the recyclers. Turns out it wasn't good cause it wasn't heavy enough. The tweakers here are going nuts with stealing metal they've been taking wires out of parks and baseball fields, street signs, even guardrails.

A problem out here (SoCal and also the San Francisco Bay area) is all the track homes that people bought but abandoned. The thieves are coming in and completely stripping out an almost new home (less than 2 years old) of all its copper wiring and plumbing, thus turning a once $700K home into a $100K lot that needs the old home torn down. Its going to be interesting once this housing market rebounds. I am amazed that they can strip a home in one night

Thats real interesting Dave and all new to me.  Wonder how long it takes them to remove all that stuff and what the value would be?  Even then, you would think they would be able to rebuild the house rather than taring it down..

Anybody else heard of this happening in their neighborhood???Ermm

Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses. 2008 Jetstream Blue Convertible
1.  Cats - yes, there have been lots here in Central IN, as Tux said.  One of the stories talked about thieves taking from cars recently parked.  Yikes!  I would think the cats would be too hot.

2. Copper - Recently, a food pantry in Indy had to trash all of it's frozen and refrigerated food because theives stole all of the copper tubing from electric and refrigeration units outside overnight.  Last weekend, my nieghbor, who had been fixing up a house with the intention of flipping it, told us that the house had been hit and all the copper pipes stolen.  The water destroyed all of the new carpet they had installed.

It really is a shame that these people aren't willing to find legitimate means to get a buck.  It's too bad that the need for drugs pushes them to this point.

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!
