I gently let my wife know a few years ago that I would appreciate not being asked to go to buy my own birthday present, and that a card might be nice.

She doesn't always come through, but she does try, and that's good enough for me.
 
I can understand your frustration though.  And yes, happy belated birthday!!



I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

I hit the big 50 this year and my wife didn't even say happy birthday. My Granddaughter did call me to sing so that was enough for me. I don't care about the adults, it's the kids that matter most.

first (so you don't get mad at meBig%20smile) HAPPY BIRTHDAY. second, have to agree with other posts that a card or a present is not as important as your family. i will be married 31 years soon and since the beginning have taken wife to store and told her to buy what she wants as this way i know she likes what she is getting and will not just say she likes it because i bought it. at first she didn't like it but after a bit she came to understand it wasn't the present it was my gift to her. of course it cost me a lot sometimes to do it this way but it never failed to put a smile on her face. because of health reasons she has forgotten my birthday or our anniversary and i have never gotten mad (wouldn't have even if she didn't have the medical problems). in the long run it has paid off, like when she told me to go buy my 75 for my 30th anniversary present or my 90 for my birthday present. if i were you i'd be out right now like jim g suggested and be buying her them roses.
