Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses. 2008 Jetstream Blue Convertible
I was talking with someone tonight about the new Camaro and it suddenly hit me - what about the Firebird?  Has anyone heard if Pontiac will jump on the bandwagon and bring back the screaming chicken?

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Nothing planned for the near future.  Pontiac's got a few other "performance" offerings like G8, Solstice, etc. so Chevy gets the pony car.

SOLD - "The Toy" - '70 Convertible
SOLD - "The Beast" - '90 ZR-1 (#682)
SOLD - "Betty" - '28 Ford Model A Tudor
SOLD - "BLKBRRD" - '78 Pontiac Trans Am
"BLUBYU" - '04 Coupe
I first saw artist Kevin Morgan's Firebird TA concept drawings on transamcountry.com and it blew me away, just as it did a lot of fans of the 2nd gen Firebird.  I didn't particularily like the new Camaro concept at first (and the jury is still out for me) but the look of the TA was stunning to me.  I know they're basically the same car so I can't explain why the Camaro just looks ordinary.

I doubt Pontiac will ever build it.  But if the new Camaro fairs well you just never know.  Anyway, here's a peek at what Kevin Morgan did.

Vette(s): 74 coupe 4 speed 350, 54K actual miles, all original; paint, interior, engine, split bumper. #'s match. 2nd owner, no stress cracks.
Thanks for the pictures.  Nice looking concept.  I have been looking for a new family car.  Would like a manual trans with rear drive.  Maybe the Camaro will fit the bill.  Also looking at the Cadillac CTS.

Vette(s): 1975 Stingray Nomad Wagon, with Daytona front, custom hood scoop, dual side vents; 420HP 350; Doug Nash 5 speed; 1980 rear end W/4:11 gears; Cherry Red metallic paint.
I wish they would build on one of his designs, they are all great, alot better than the camero.  Thanks for the lincs, Norsky.
I had a pair of '84 Trans Ams, couldnt resist the second one, it was 2 digits away from the one i bought new for the wife, and was basically identical.  Really built up mine, 420 hp 350, upgraded suspension, etc.

    Sure do miss those birds.

I said to Michele when those Firebird renditions by Kevin Morgan came out. "If Pontiac comes out with that car, the Vette and GTO are history. Were going out and buying one of those."

Well we can rest assured GM won't make anything that cool looking. They are seemingly a day late and many dollars short when it comes to thing like this.

GEN III 5.7L "LS6" Engine swap
TKO500 5 spd.

3.54 Dana 44
'69 "N11" Sidepipes
Borgeson Steering Box
