I was thinking about adding a new feature exclusively for Lifetime Members:

10meg email box with an @C3VR.com email address.

The interface is pretty slick and includes spell check, spam filtering, and a WYSIWIG editor (similar to the forum editor).

Here are some screen shots of the interface:

What do you lifetimers think? Is this a feature you'd like?

You already have access to free email with an @C3VetteRegistry.com email address, but that interface is not as slick.

Please let me know what you think.  If enough of you are intersted, I can implement it pretty quick.

Thanks!

P.S. I could also create what is called an "Alias" for you. Where you could have an email address like "Bob@C3VR.com" that people could send email to, but it would be instantly forwarded to your current email address, whatever it is, such as "BobSmith123@yahoo.com"   The advantage there is you could have a custom email address with an @C3VR.com domain name to tell people to contact you at. The only downside of the "Alias" vs. a true account is that when you send emails from your Yahoo.com account, your FROM address would not be your @C3VR.com address.  You could set your "REPLY TO" setting to "Bob@C3VR.com" which may work for some email receipients, but others would still see your yahoo.com address.  Make sense?

It is a nice interface, but personally I don't need another mailbox to keep track of.

Good point!  Which led me to add the "P.S" above in the original post.

I agree with Jim.  It's a nice feature Adam, and maybe some lifers will take you up on the offer.

Agree with Norsky. Besides, I haven't fully figured out how how this forum editor works yet. It's not real intuitive.

I'd have to agree with Jim, also. It looks good, but I don't know if it's something I would need or use. I'm OK with the regular Registry e-mail system.

Now......if you could get a "spel chack" feature on the forum posts..............

Adam,

I also appreciate the extra gift to the lifers, but I also do not need another e-mail address.

Vette(s): had a really nice one. sold it to a good friend. Purchased 2004 custom coupe in Feb. 2009 did not tell anyone here until August 2009. BAD I KNOW.
I concour with all of the others, thank you for the thought, but most of us proably have and use an older email account and it would be hard to switch, keep track, remember to check, the whole ghost thing is a little to 'puterish for me.  i have started to use the existing email a little more know and that is just fine with me.   spell check would be nice to have, a little simple web space to post a half dozen pics or so would be nice also,, I really don't need more then the fellowship of this site.

Vette(s): 1979, 350sb, as my kids affectionately call it "shit brown" Corvette purchased in 1996. 84,000+ miles. Not a show car, but I love her just the same.

Yeah, Adam:

Not trying to speak for all the Lifers here, but I think you pretty much have a consensus on this issue - "Thanks for the offer, but no thanks!"

Personally, I would rather see more input in the Tips and Tricks section of the forum, especially from all other members, than another way to "chat" with people.

Then there's the issue of whether we could have a gallery of photos showing all of the member "rides" in one place.  I think time would be better spent on something like this than a new email system.

Anyway, just my 2 cents...appreciate the offer though, and glad you're thinking of us.

Just another Lifer saying Ditto, Mark said it perfectly for me. Thanks, however.
