You will probably be coming down the N.E. Extension of the PA turnpike. I get on the turnpike at Downingtown and am usually at the toll both by 6:00 AM. I get to Carlisle between 7:30 and 8:00 and have to wait for about 10 minutes at the toll both and a LONG time ( as much as 30 minutes ) to get near the fairgrounds which are normally about 8 minutes or so from the turnpike. If you want to park inside the fairgrounds, I think you have to get in through gate #3. I believe it costs around $40.00 to park in the fun display. If you don't want to give up $40.00, you can park in numerous lots outside of gate 1 for $5.00 to $10.00. Be forewarned, do not attempt to leave between 4-6 PM. It will take you 90 to 120 minutes to get back to the turnpike. I found that out the hard way ( twice ).
Don't forget to stop and visit with Adam at spot ID50 and stop by my club ( Keystone State ) at IB26 through IB34. ( We don't give away anthing free but we will have a brand new 2003 Corvette ( raffle car ) to see and a model to buy a ticket for it from

Martin,
The easiest way to go to Carlisle from Allentown is take 78 west and then take 81 towards Harrisburg, there will be signs for Carlisle. My advice, take the 2nd Carlisle exit and also COME EARLY.
Good Luck

Thanks for the info.....looks like COME EARLY is the biggest. I have a co-worker from the area....now all I need to do is have him get up early.
Thanks also for the hit about parking around gate 1.....
See ya there....

You also may want to try hotels in York. Only about 30 miles south of Carlisle. Route 74 straight from York right into Carlisle.

I'll stop by too. Can we possibly arrange a group get-together time so we can all meet? Otherwise Adam will have met everyone bit by bit and the rest of us won't!!

Sounds like a good idea.....I'm going to be like a big ole kid in a candy store....
I'll keep checking in during the rest of the week (in the home office when the boss isn't looking!) to see what time works for everyone.

How about each day, all C3VR Members plan to be at the C3VR Tent at 12 Noon for Hot Dogs & Drinks!
So wheather you are there Friday, Saturday or Sunday, stop by at Noon each day for Lunch with the C3VR Folk! The tent will have tables and chairs. I can't promise it will be cool, but it will be shaded!
I just added this to the News on the Home Page!
See ya there!
