Here are the details about C3VR Member & C3 Owner parking at Corvettes at Carlisle 2003:
The event runs from Friday August 22 - Sunday August 24, 2003.
You MUST pre-register by August 15, 2003!
Registration is $55 which includes the following:
* Parking in a special area designated for C3 Vette Registry Members
* You'll be parked on the Fun Display Showfield
* Eligibility for the "Celebrity Picks" awards.
* Admission to the event for all three days for TWO people!
* A special Fun Display Showfield goody bag
* You'll receive a pre-registration package in the mail before the event that includes gate info and directions
Please keep in mind that you'd pay about $30 for off-site parking plus admission for two people for 1 day. So parking with us gets you the above extras (and better parking) for only $15 more. If you spend 2 or more days there, you'll actually be saving money!
After you check in at the registration office and pick up your vehicle sticker or receive your pre registered vehicle sticker in the mail, you can drive in and out of the facility as you wish - the vehicle sticker must be on the windshield, driver's side upper corner and it will get the vehicle and two adults into the event all weekend.
You can register one of three ways:
1. Online: Corvettes at Carlisle Showfield Registration. Make sure to enter "C3 Vette Registry" in the "Club" box!!
2. By Phone: 717-243-7855 - Make sure to mention you are with "C3 Vette Registry"!!
3. By Mail: Make Check or Money Order payable to: Carlisle Productions. Mail to: 1000 Bryn Mawr Road, Carlisle, PA 17013-1588. Make sure to mention you are with "C3 Vette Registry" !!
REMEMBER: You MUST pre-register by August 15, 2003!
** UPDATE 6/23/03 **
Other Important Info: There is the chance that they could reach the numbers where they say the show Fun Display parking is full and they would not accept any additional registrations. To Date they have not had this happen but it could. Also understand that as the show field fills even the space that is being held for the clubs and registries will be utilized. 11:00 A.M. Saturday is the latest that space is held after that they fill all the areas and members will park at whatever area is left.
Please also reply to this thread if you pre-register, so we can keep a headcount here, too!
Thanks, hope to see ya there!

I registered on-line for Carlisle with C3 Vette Registry as my club. Hope they reserve you a lot of space on the Fun Field.

Ron

I have been going to Carlisle for 15-20 years now, and have registered for each and every Fun Display they have had...(won 4 times now..all choisen by different "corvette People..not some bimbo or politician...)
Anyway
A few years ago a group of us sat down and talked with Both Millers and bitched... I personally do not think any registry should have reserved parking on the show field..and come on guys there is a registry for every fricken type of Corvette. I am a member of The C2 Registry, The LT1 registry, The Corvette Calvery, and now I guess the C3 resgisty. Plus I have "used" the Western
Penna. Corvette Clubs parking area a few times...
So I generally can park BUT I still do not think it is
fair at all... You get the guy who drives down from Canada
and finds he can not find a parking spot on Saturday morning unless he is on the grounds when the sun comes up..or is so far up the hill he could have parked on the shoulder of Route 81 .. ALL the while when there are 100's
of good parking places on the show field...
My Info from the Millers that they were NOT going to
expand "Special Parking" and last year they DID NOT..
Sorry for the RANT...but it is how I personally feel...
YES I joined all those registries to GET better
parking...got sick and tired of telling the Carlisle
Staff the go to hell...(hey it is not their fault) and half the staff are volenteers anyway...they do not need
My crap...

But he could have also registered to be on the Show Field without any club affiliation, couldn't he? Then he'd have a spot waiting for him.

Nothing against you because you did the correct thing in securing some reserved parking spaces for members of this forum... I would have too...
However I just do not think that any spot on the
fun display field should be reserved... first car thru the gate should get to park anywhere he or she wants on the field...PERIOD...
Being registered for the Fun Dipsplay DOES NOT ...repeat
DOES NOT guarentee you a parking spot on the Show Field.
The Guy from Canada who is late arriving on Saturday may actually NOT be allowed onto the field because the 3000 or so spaces are full...Heck I have seen the complete fairgrounds full on Saturdays no general, nor show field parking spaces...
Like I said I have been registered and attended every single FUN DISPLAY since the 1st one. And personally I
have myself covered (reserved fun show spaces) no matter which car I drive on any given day.(I live 65 miles from Carlisle and drive up and back every day, most of the times I drive a different car each day...
BUT I just do not think the policy is a good one..
However like I said...you did the right thing in securing some reserved spaces..Hope its more then 20 spaces and (we) do not have a view of Rt 81...
Off my soapbox...
Bob
BTW... for GREAT parking everyone should enter the
NCRS show...cheap..best patking on the grounds..
Who cares if you don't have the car detailed
and cleaned for a NCRS show..you are at Carlisle
for parts, for fun, for a good time etc... lol

Ok Bob, I think I understand what you mean.
If it makes you feel any better, in order to allow C3VR to have space this year, they have actually EXTENDED the showfield space. They are using space this year that has not previously been used. I'm not sure if it was COMPLETELY unused before, or if it was used for other things, but I know it is new to ShowField use this year. Also, if C3VR doesn't get enough people pre-registered this year they will not allow us to have space next year.

Well, this sounds like an issue with Carlisle's planning. What you are saying means that they are selling more spaces than are available, and I would agree that that is not right! If you purchase a space on the ShowField, that space better be there for you even if you get there at 3pm!
If you really think that is a problem, maybe you should write to them and complain.

With the parking can you come and go as you please, or does the car have to stay on the field all day? Kathy

Adam:
Ok... I'm glad they just went and expanded the "show Field" .. not that is was exactly "small" before... But I was at Carlisle this past weekend for the GM Nationals and I looked around and I really do not know what spaces besides the hill tops that they could have expanded to...
Makes no difference really ... The entire fair grounds will be packed on Saturday morning anyway...My only guess is that they took the general parking area close to gate #1 and included it into the Fun Show area..which would be a good area really...
Hope I get the chance to stop by and chat sometime during the weekend...all depends on how my legs hold out...(this will be the first Corvette Gathering that I will be at without my golf cart...(new Carlisle policy which I do agree with) but it sure will cut into the amound of ground I cover...
BTW: Kathy you can come and go all day from the show
field... it is really a "party field" LOL

Here is what I was told by the Carlisle folks:
After you check in at the registration office and pick up your vehicle sticker or receive your pre registered vehicle sticker in the mail, you can drive in and out of the facility as you wish - the vehicle sticker must be on the windshield, driver's side upper corner and it will get the vehicle and two adults into the event all weekend.
