In DE there are the beaches to visit. Rehobeth Beach and Bethany Beach. During spring and fall the hotels/motels generally are not full. From July through Labor Day, forget it though. Plenty of things to do here, plus there is Ocean City in MD that is 35 minutes south of Rehobeth Beach, and there are all kinds of things to do there. |bouncy| So my vote, the beaches of Deleware or Maryland. Of course that is about as far east of PA as one can get. |wavey|

Howdy,

I just got my interest statement from the bank and would like to donate the 2 cents I earned after taxes to this discussion. Don't know about you, but big cities and Corvettes don't go well together. Heck, I live in the country and get nervous just driving into town! So here are my ideas, for what it's worth...

First, how about either Springfield, MA or someplace just west of there in the Berkshires Mountains of Massachusetts. I live in Rhode Island, by the way, so it shows I'm willing to concede a little. Just don't want to drive too far because of my insurance mileage limitation. Springfield is known for the New England Exposition and it has some really beautiful spots for a gathering like this. It's also convenient to the MA turnpike and, in the fall, the scenery is super!

My second choice would be the area in and around Mystic, Connecticut. It's a beautiful seashore area that is convenient to I-95 and there are a lot of attractions (Mystic Village, Mystic Pizza, Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Casinos, etc.). We could do a cruise through Rhode Island over the new Jamestown Verrazano Bridge and Newport Bridge and tour historic Newport or even head out to Cape Cod.

Anyway, there's my 2 cents worth if it helps!

Take care,
Franc

I appreciate everyone's input!
Keep the suggestions coming, and I will compile a list of ideas soon, then we can vote on it.

Also, please keep in mind, you DO NOT have to bring your C3 to the event. I know a lot of people don't like to drive their C3s long distances. It is more so that we can just get togther in person (for a change), hang out, talk and BS.

Thanks!

Wildwood sounds like a great idea to me. Cleveland seems a little far for me and my tired '72 engine.

A good point that we do not have to drive our C3's to the event. Being from the sunny south let me make one more suggestion. Myrtle Beach, S.C. is a long way for most of you to drive but after Labor Day the Hotel rates really drop to nothing.Being able to get together and most in one or to Hotels close together would probably at that time of year be possible. Which would allow us to be more of a group and party together. Plus the weather is still nice and warm with great beaches and many night spots. I would even be gald to help arrange the meet. |bouncy| |cheers| |thumb|

Wildwood, NJ sounds like a good idea. . .How about something in early summer? Seems like there isn't a lot going on in May and June, but there are a lot of local Corvette shows and events in the area almost every weekend in July, August and September. The Corvette weekend in Ocean City, MD is great. . .but a little too hectic if you want to concentrate on C3VR. |thumb|
