there is a great antique meet held the first weekend of Aug every year in Macungie Pa.(near Allentown). The 40th Annual "Das Awkscht Fest" at Macungie Memorial Park. They advertise it in Hemmings. I have beed to it many times and it is my favorite meet. Its held in a large park in town with trees and grass. there is a large swimming pool in the center of the park so you can take a swim when you get hot. there are cars, parts in the park. at the high school (they have a shuttle bus running to) they have antique toys (mostly cars). the amish people have tents set up in a seperate area in the park to sell lots of nice craft items (thats where my wife goes while i'm part hunting). there is an ampitheater in the center near the pool among the trees where different bands play all day. the Mack truck antique truck museum is next to the park and is open and free that weekend and in the evening they have fireworks. i'm not sure of the age restrictions for the cars i believe is pre 1978 but even if you don't have the meet there it is one meet to be sure to go some year. i plan on traveling the the area for a week or so just to go back again. I see the all american corvette club ,the allentown corvette club and the easton corvette club are meeting there and i'm sure many others. Here is a link to check it out...

Vette(s): 1979, 350sb, as my kids affectionately call it "shit brown" Corvette purchased in 1996. 84,000+ miles. Not a show car, but I love her just the same.
The amusement park in Ohio is called Cedar Point. It's a great place to go, but I don't think it's condusive to a bunch of Corvettes. Rock-n-Roll Hall of fame might not be bad. Then there's a little town called Cuyahoga Falls not far from there where Quaker Oats got it's start, home to Kent State University if I'm not mistaken, and the original silos used to store Quaker's oats have been made into a beautiful hotel with a great restaurant and shopping center inside.

I found an extra 2 cents in my wife's nightstand this morning so I will donate it. There is an event already scheduled for this summer that many of the members may already be attending.
N.C.C.C. East is hosting the annual convention this year in Hagerstown, MD. Any chance you could make some kind of arrangements with them at this late date to set up a booth and maybe a seperate three or four hour cruise / get together for C3s only?
I understand these events are normally a great deal of fun to begin with due to the great people and activities like low and high speed events, parties etc.
It is the whole WEEK before Carlisle so those truely adventurous folks with no jobs, no responsibilities and a bunch of money, could go there on a Sunday, spend the week and head for Carlisle on Friday for the next weekend.
That may be more than 2 cents worth so you can keep the change

I appreciate everyone's 2 cents! Keep them coming....hell, even put in 4 cents if you have it!
My preference is to stay away from other major events, like the NCCC or the NCRS thing in Hershey, PA. For two reasons:
1) Much harder to get a room in a town with a big shindig going on.
2) Would like to keep the focus on just us C3VRers.
So far, I like the Rock N Roll museum and Atlantic City idea. Although, we'll probably spend less money in Cleveland than Atlantic City!

having lived in NJ for 30 years i would not sugest atlantic city. no parking and not much left there unless you want to go to the casinos. Also a high crime area. At the nj shore Wildwood would be better, much better beach better and larger boardwalk, lots of rides on the boardwalk lots of places to park and nice area to drive around. http://www.phillyburbs.com/shore/nww.shtml

I second Wildwood, NJ.
Great place for any kind of old car event.
They host 2 huge car events annually. One in May and another in September.
It is very condusive to these kind of events and lots of interesting places to see and eat.

Adam, I have to borrow 2 cents from Glenn, since he borrowed from his wife. There is a family park with amusement rides and free entrance and parking, picnic areas called Knoebels in Central PA. The town is Elysburg. I have been there a few times when I lived in the area. Nice familiy oriented park and low cost for every one. There arent many hotels within 10-15 miles, just for Glenns 2 cents worth.
