Adam, I'll be renewing in June or when ever my current membership expire... Again, Thanks for all your hard work on this site,,
When you have over $120,000 tied up in Corvettes, another $10.00 a year will not break the bank. I also pay for several other sites I belong to.

WOW! Can you believe this response. I am one of the "cheap" standard member types and many has the time that I have not felt ashamed for not paying Adam for such a great service. I can't believe anyone could be so self centred as to not see that some things are worth supporting YES, even on the net.
Adam I hope all 3700 members pay the $10 and you end up making some money, that isn't a crime to be paid for hours spent working. Even if it is a labour of love.
Come on folks think about it rationally, would you work for free? Then why should he.
What are all you Americans whining about! I am in Canada so by the time you factor in exchange rate I am paying more than you, and I still will do it happily.
When my time comes you can count me in! Strength in numbers!

The difference between men and boys is the cost of their toys!!
I am already a paid Gold member and will most likely upgrade to lifetime. I have saved 10 times what Adam is asking for membership price, on one purchase none the less. The amount of technical knowledge I have learned from this site is worth hundreds if not thousands.
A quick check of all the names that I see cancelling, and I have one thought. I don't recognize one of them. Not one.
This is more than a Corvette forum to me, I have made what I consider to be some friendships through common bond. Norsky, KStyer, Adam, Gribble, and SWwales, and many others have been there when I asked a question, and I in turn have been there whenever I had the knowledge to answer a question.
It seems to me that even if only 100 pay, we will still retain the 100 most knowledgeable and loyal people on the site. That would still be a club I would be proud to be a member of.
To those of you who have decided to cancel your account... Good luck getting the amount of assistance available here for less than 10$ a year.

What Davii said.
He is 100% correct. For those of us who are on this site every day, this is more than a forum, it's a place where we have vette friends, who share our love of the cars, and passion for working and playing with them.
I don't wish to see anyone leave the forum, but those who don't want to pay $10 bucks are most likely the same folks who don't contribute to our group. So if they go, it's okay with me.
Thanks to all the others who are going to stay and continue to make this a great place to interact with other C3 people!

I'm staying. I know you want to but yous guys can't get rid of me that easily!
Its been said before but I find it really amusing that I don't recognize ANY of the names that are leaving, and only one that is "on the fence." Whoever said the $37,000/year if everyone pays is clearly not a big computer user...My best friend just graduated college and is in management...she needed to hire a programmer for one of their projects...lowest the guy would accept is $60/hour, and my friend's boss told her to offer the programmer $75/hour. I don't know how much time Adam puts into the site, but it is one of the best running smoothest loading forums I've ever used and last I heard he programmed it himself. The only way he's getting paid close to what he deserves is if it takes him less than 12 hours a week to maintain the site and EVERYONE pays the $10. Not probable. I for one am very grateful Adam has such a dedication to C3s and that he is willing to spend the time in this labor of love to create such a great forum.

I am surprised at how many "members" are leaving and I am overwhelmed by the ones who are staying. As for those who are leaving ... what do you do when you see a tech article that relates to your car in a Corvette magazine ... do you buy it or do you save 3 or 4 bucks and tuck it under your shirt ??? Do you belong to a Corvette Club somewhere that charges annual dues and NCCC dues ... if so, do you pay them ??? Do you take your car to shows and pay a registration fee ??? These are things that most Corvette owners take for granted ... just like this website !! No magazine, no club, no car show that I have gone to is free. If 10 bucks is gong to break you, then do yourself a favor and sell the car now, before you waste 10 more bucks on a few gallons of gas to drive around on. I don' t put a lot of posts on this website, but I sure get a lot of enjoyment out of it. I also help Adam out at Corvettes At Carlisle ... just because I think it's the right thing to do. I believe that the Corvette community is made up of a unique group of people that don' t mind going out of their way for each other. I wave to other Corvettes when I pass them on the road. I think most of you get my drift by now .... I'm a Corvette owner and I'm proud of it !! I' ll be staying. See you all at Carlisle.
Count me in. Just got my first vette a couple months ago now that the kids are older, checked on the other sites, this was the only one that seemed to have any kind of active users group. Every question I've asked has gotten at least one if not more solutions. I don't know anyone else personally that has a C-3 so this is the greatest resource I have.

Adam,
How are you doing Bro, haven't talked to you in awhile. Hope we can meet up at FunFest again this Fall. I would like to throw in my $.02 if you don't mind. If my post is inappropriate, please feel free to delete it, no foul.
As you know, I run CrossedFlags.com, and we are a totally free site. These sites can be VERY expensive to run. Bandwidth is not cheap and the amount of time it takes to run a site, especially if you are doing it on your own, can be mind boggling. I sympathize with you and your situation. Unless you have deep pockets, or supporting vendors, it is hard to keep the doors open. You provide a great service to your members, but in this business there are too many sites that don't charge dues and members will go elsewhere to find information.
If I may suggest, and please don't take this wrong, I am only trying to help as a friend, but you need someone to actively pursue supporting vendors. You need to sell your product, C3Vette Registry. If you can grab a handfull of supporting vendors, then you can collect enough to pay the bills. With supporting vendors, you can then offer the Registry for free, which will in return draw more members. More members mean more vendors. More vendors means more revenue to operate your site. More revenue allows you to advertise, thus bringing in more members. It's a win win situation.
If there is anything I can do t help, just drop me a note. Best of luck to you Adam.
