I agree, this is the best site I've found. For me the only decision will be what level of membership to get.

I appreciate this site. I will be staying. Will you advise us on June 1 how to pay for the first year? I have not seen any information on how to forward the payment, where and/or whom to forward it to, pay by credit card, etc. Please let us know (or tell me where I missed this info) in time to sign up before cancellation. Keep up the good work.

Well, after giving it much thought, I am going to have to say goodbye.
I started with becoming a Gold Member, & checked here often, posted messages, & thought about becoming a lifetime member. Then, I started getting emails insulting me about my posts, so I just quit coming as often. One time, I asked Adam about something, & he gave me a rude reply in front of the group, so that REALLY pushed me away. I stopped by one day, one of the moderators asked me why I wasn't on like before, & I told him. I was told that if I had any more problems, to let him know, & he would talk to Adam about replying to questions. The answer to that was Adam was busy with some things going on in his life. I accepted that, & I tried to come back, but the fun just wasn't there anymore. I posted again, & again recieved a email telling me how my questions were a waste of time, & then got pretty insulting. I forwarded a copy of the email to Adam, & have never even recieved a reply! But I'll get emails asking why I am not renewing my Gold membership, or the bulletins.
I'm sorry, but I cannot be a part of something that will take the money, & if there is a problem, be disregarded, or ask a question, be rudely replied to in front of the group.
Thank You,
John

Has anyone considered making it a donation site?
I do feel that the mandatory fee will diminish the usefulness of the site. Anecdotal responses are very useful.
I am generally hesitant to pay for something without seeing it first. Had there been a membership fee, I would have moved on and clicked on the next link in google to find the information I was looking for.
But if you had a paypal donation button, I would send ten bucks after having used this site for some of my restoration research and Ive only been here a week.
Give people some kind of icon/logo to differentiate free members who donate and those who don't.
I agree 10$ is a minor amount, but donation sits better with most people rather than a membership fee. Also I am extremely hesitant to give someone my credit card number, especially in an auto-bill situation.
I saved 40$ by buying my oil pan and main bearing cap studs from gmpartsdirect as recommended by a site user.
another thing.. I own an ISP and there might be another unfortunate soul here who does, what kind of expenses does this site have. How much bandwidth is used, what is your monthly fee. If myself or someone else can help keep the site free I think it would be better off in the long run.
So I guess Im one of those people who is on the fence. Ill donate 10$ right now if you give me a paypal address and leave it free.. Im just not sure I will pay 10$ for a membership as I dont agree with it in principle.
by the way.. my wife is a bartender.. when we have the annual corvette show here in Hot Springs, AR every year.. she always complains that the corvette owners are the cheapest bunch of bad/non-tippers you'll ever see.

I found this site 2 days after I purchased my first corvette in September of last year, the information I have received from this forum has been invaluable, I went from knowing that there are two T’s in corvette to being able to answer other peoples questions about vettes.
I read most of this thread, but did not see that this was a non profit site, I run a ISP with 120,000 high speed Internet users, It takes a lot of time and effort to maintain a website like this, I can appreciate Adam’s presence here.
Vendors in this economy are hard pressed to release advertising dollars to support almost any type of venues; they are paying pennies to what they were 4 years ago.
Adam, Great job! Hang in there…..
I supported this forum by upgrading to a gold membership this evening.
Back to the Spurs game, dam Lakers are catchin up.

Adam, You can count me in. Most of the guys who opted to cancel out are not really apart of the C3 Vette Registry brotherhood. Just people looking for a free ride, Let them find it somewhere else. The rest of us really love what we do, and think its worth the ten dollars. Keep up the good work.
And save the wave, Andy.

THANKS ADAM
This is a great site! I don't get on very much but enjoy it when I do. We are not just paying for use of the site but supporting the C3. I just upgraded to a lifetime membership to show MY support. Maybe it was time to clean house! Thanks again Adam and all of the "MEMBERS"
