I tried to send a Newsletter out while I was in Bowling Green, but it didn't seem to work. So here is the text of that newsletter:
-------------------------------------------------
This is not going to be a typical newsletter since I am still in Bowling Green, KY. I just want to give you an update of my trip to BG this week. I will resume the typical newsletters next Friday.
So, for those of you that don't already know, I made the trip to Bowling Green, KY on Tuesday. I got here Wednesday evening and am going to start heading home tomorrow afternoon.
So far the trip has been well worth it! The museum is great, the Assembly Plant is even better!
Thursday morning I took my first tour of the assembly plant. It was a guided tour through the entire line, from frame only to being driven off the line. It really is quite an amazing thing to see in person.
Thursday afternoon I volunteered to help out at the NCM. They needed people to help direct traffic into the lots, so I did that from 12:30 to 5:30. As boring as it may sound, it was actually exciting. For one thing, I was the first person people got to see as they turned off of Corvette Drive. Also, as the Historic Motorama arrived at 5:30, I got to greet them all as they passed right by me.
Thursday evening I purchased 16 "Family Radios" that C3 Vette Registry donated to the National Corvette Museum for use by the staff during these big events. (They already had radios, but they were only 1 channel. When I was volunteering, the radio was crowded with other people's conversations, making it hard for the NCM staff and volunteers to communicate. So the radios I purchased have multiple channels to choose from)
Friday morning I delivered the radios to Torie, the NCM head of the volunteer group. Then I headed back to the Assembly Plant to welcome and photograph the Historic Motorama arriving at the plant. As head of the C3 Vette Registry, I was given special access for photographs and I was able to go high up in a "cherry picker" for pictures! I have posted a few of them in the forums:

I will post the rest of them upon my return home.
After the motorama photo session was over, I was allowed in with the media to go on a special "Media Only Tour" of the plant. We were allowed to shoot certain areas of the plant. Normally, no one is allowed to take pictures while on tour, so I was thrilled to have the chance to do this! Again, I have posted a few in the forums, and will post the rest when I get home:

On Saturday, there are some seminars I plan to attend, including one about C3s.
I will fill you in on the rest of my trip next week.
Also, please keep in mind that Shark Fest is coming up at the NCM the last week of August and C3 Vette Registry will be working with the NCM to be a sponsor of this event. As Shark owners, I'm hoping that MANY C3VR members will be attending this event! Look for more on this event from me in the very near future.
I hope you enjoyed this review of my trip to BG, and I thank you for your support of C3VR!
