If it searches bodies and titles like he said then as long as the member's name is in either of those it will come up. And what is there to screw up?? Its a search for keywords. It'll be a nice addition. Probably should reduce the number of repeated questions. You may also get the answers your looking for much quicker too.

I know I could have used the search feature 10 or 15 minutes ago to help fix a botched post I made last week. I still don't understand how Adam has time to do everythiing he does with this site. What is really amazing to me is this, I am willing to bet that he has to try some of the things more than once to get them working right, so that takes even MORE time. |headscratch|

I don't know how I have time to do all of this either!! |eek|

But as long as you guys/gals appreciate it, it's all worth it!

And yes, I do have to try some of these things more than once to get them right. I had to make a fix to the forums yesterday because someone posted a title that caused an error. The kind of thing I didn't even think of when I wrote the code originally.

I could have bought the Fourm software (like the one CF has) but I wanted to write it myself, for the challange, the experience and the low monetary cost.

But since I wrote it myself, I find little things to fix here and there, and features to add, like the search, which is a major component of the Forums.

At any rate, if you feel for me, then you can certainly become a Gold Member (if you haven't already) or make a donation under the "About" menu. That money goes directly to support the site!

Thanks for all your support and recent activity, helping make this a great site!

See? We were just talking about breaking it, and look what I did? I was the one who posted the title that broke the forum! |blush|

How'd you fix it Adam? I got your email, and it worked just fine when I fixed the post! Thanks! And I agree, we don't know how you've got time for all this. Do you get to sleep and eat or do you do that at the computer?

I was not aware you could actually buy forum software. I thought it was part of the data base you are using for the site in general. How much does forum software cost and is it available locally ( like compusa ) or just as a mail order item? I could put this on my site with only one forum named " things you don't like about my site ". It could be a real winner ! My guys could really beat the snot outta me |laugh|

No Darla, you will not ever see a forum on my club's site. Well, never say not ever. If someone else if running the site and I don't have to do anything at all to it, well, then maybe you might see a forum. Might being the operative word.

Hey Dar, I thought you were just kidding. You actually broke it? |laugh| It is a good thing that there are a lot of good and patient people on this board. If there are more like us, Adam and Scottt will have their hands full.
